• Wired or wireless headphones: This is pretty simple and my suggestion would be wireless headphones because they’re more convenient and portable. Wireless headphones can always become wired but it’s not possible otherwise. The manufacturer often packs wires inside wireless headphones as well.
• Battery Life: this is the most important factor as you don’t want your headphones to run out of battery soon and run around charging it. Choose the one with 10-12 hours of battery life so it can run longer. Anything less than that will not be worth getting. 
• Sound Quality: Headphones’ main purpose is sound and if the quality goes bad here then your investment isn’t worth it. Sound quality differs in different headphones. The base, accuracy, fidelity etc. makes a difference. So check your headphones and listen to an audio/song before buying your headphones.
• Active Noise Cancellation: Active noise cancelling feature muffles the outside sound where you can’t hear the noises when you’re wearing headphones. These are a huge factor in producing clear and crisp sound in your headphones. So, i’d recommend you to go for this feature.

The i30 also ships with these incredible lighting cables which are the real deal, the connect with the i30 beautifully and looks exactly similar to the actual ones.

i30 TWS First Look

The first important aspect to talk about the i30 is the fact that it has a W1 chip. So what is a W1 chip? For the uninitiated, it’s the chip that controls the pop-up screen that you see in the Airpods. You need to pop open your i30 connector and you can automatically sync it with your phone which is a pretty cool feature that you can get for a less price.

This has a playback time of 4 hours, which is an hour lesser to the Airpods, but 4 hours is still pretty decent and it’s worth the price.

Syncing the i30

All you have to do to sync the i30’s to your phone is to open the i30 charging case lid and then immediately you see the interface on your iPhone change and you need to click on the Connect button. Now that they have been synced, you just have to take your earphones out each time you want to use it and it will be automatically paired with your phone. It works like magic and it’s incredible.

The truth of the matter is, the i30’s can actually be placed inside an actual Airpod charging case and it will charge. So this is as real as real can get.

The actual Airpods also charge inside the i30’s charging box. So if you don’t want to spend $80 for a new charging box from Apple, you can actually buy the i30 and you will get a box and the i30’s for much lesser.

The i30 TWS are supposed to be clones of the Airpods 1st Generation. These are the old-school Airpods that are still by far the most popular. The i30 TWS is alternately called the i14 TWS, i500 TWS and a few others.

The issue with some replicas in the past were, they were quite different from Airpods in the slightest way. For example, when connecting the lights would blink Red & Blue and that would give away to the world that these weren’t Airpods.

The Pop-Up box is one of those features that made the Airpods immensely popular. This is a simple addition to the charging box called the W1 chip. When the box is opened you see the charging interface on your smartphone screen. This is also the way to connect the pop-up box to your smartphone via Bluetooth. This has been a standard among other TWS devices such as i60, i80, i90 and now the i100. The pop-up box is a must in a TWS device.

The wireless charging is one of the top features of the TWS earphones. Most of the other versions don’t seem to have the wireless charging feature. This basically means, you can use a Qi-enabled wireless charging mat or pad and charge the i100 TWS with it. This is pretty straight forward and is much better than the USB charging cable, which requires you to carry around the USB cable which can be easily lost.

In-ear Sensor

Another nifty feature with the i100 is the, In-ear sensor. The in-ear sensor is basically the device know when you have the earphones on and when you aren’t wearing it. It automatically pauses the music, when you take the earphones out of your ear and then plays the music again, when you place the earphones back. This is a super useful feature that lets you have a quick conversation with somebody without having to miss the music.

Touch Sensors

Like most of the TWS devices, the i100 also has touch sensors. The touch sensors basically let you control the earphones without any intervention from the phone. This means, you can touch your earphones and then control your experience.

A single touch for pause and play control. Double touch for volume control and triple touch for playing the next song or the previous song.

Battery Life

The battery life on the i100 is pretty good. It stands at 4 hours and has a standby-time of 40 hours, which is pretty great.

Sound

The quality of sound on the i100 TWS is one of the best compared to all other previous versions of the TWS. The i100 TWS has fantastic bass quality and treble quality sound. Generally wireless TWS earphones don’t have good bass because they are super small, but the i100 TWS is pretty great.

Calls

As the i100 TWS earphones are connected to your phone via Bluetooth, you can pick up calls directly from your earphones with a single touch. The quality is fantastic and you can remove one of the earphones to let in better ambient sound. As the earphones work independently of each other, you can put one in the charging box and speak with the other one for a much more seamless experience.

The design for the i200 is pretty standard that are similar to other iTWS earphones. The charging pop-up box is very solid and it feels sturdy when you open it. Unlike the budget versions, where the opening flap flays about, the i200 TWS’ charging box is stronger and you get that good pop when you open the box. There is a charging light on the outside that indicates if the box is charged or not. If it’s still charging, then the colour appears in red, if it’s fully charged, then it appears in green. 

Coming to the design of the earphones, similar to the Airpods, the audio output is on top that gives an ambient sound. The sensor for the in-ear is on the inside and there is a sensor on the outside for controlling the touch. It weighs very less and it’s easy to carry around.

There are numerous features that the i200 has that we will get into one by one. 

Wireless Charging 

One of my favourite features of the i200 TWS is the wireless charging. They do send a USB cable along with it, but I happen to lose it all the time because its so tiny and the fact that I need to carry it around is also a headache. With the wireless charging feature, I can just place the charging box on top of a Qi enabled charger. I have one at home and one at the office and that solves my problem with the USB charging. It’s a tad slow with the wireless charging, but nothing that affects the battery.

Pop-up Box 

The Pop-up box has been a constant among many TWS earphones and the i200 has it as well. The Pop-up box does two things. One, it helps you connect with the device’s Bluetooth and second, it gives you the charging percentage of the earphones and the charging box independently. The pop-up box makes the i200 a premium product and the interface is absolutely clean and simple and looks great. 

Individual Ear Pieces 

The two earphones of the i200 can be connected independently with your phone. This might not seem important, but it is absolutely required for a great audio experience. Sometimes when it comes to wireless earphones, the connection is lost and you don’t know which earpiece is giving you more trouble. When you independently connect them, you can ensure that each of them are working properly. Another important feature is taking calls. When you are taking calls through earphones, it’s safe to have only one ear covered, so that you are aware of the surroundings. The newly released Apple Airpods max caused a stir in the wireless headphone market, to say the least. While I do think that they are excellent products in their own right, they have their flaws too.

They are also some of the heaviest headphones I have used and they come in the most ridiculously comical carry case ever. They miss out on features like an equalizer and control over the noise cancellation intensity. And if you overlook all these flaws, they still cost an eye-watering 550$.

Honestly, the first fake Airpods Max experience I had was terrible. It was a $15 dupe and it fell apart in 20 minutes. It was horrible. I swore off them for a while. The Sony WH-1000XM4 were and still are the best all-round wireless headphones in my opinion.  They offer unparalleled active noise cancelling experience (only rivalled by the Airpods Max now). They beat Apples Airpods Max in terms of comfort because of their lightweight design. The XM4s offer 30 hours of battery life, which is 10 more than that of the Airpods Max’s. Airpods Max does look better and feel better but that comes at the cost of weight and this makes them less comfortable than Sony’s offering. 

Sony also offers an excellent app that lets you control everything, from the equalizer to the intensity of the noise cancellation. All these features coupled with the impressive sound from XM4s, they sure are the wireless headphones to beat. And the key selling point over the Airpods Max is that they regularly retail for almost half the price. I would choose the XM4s even if they cost 100$ more. They are that good.

Microsoft Surface Headphones 2 

The Microsoft surface headphones 2 surprised me over how good they are, compared to their predecessors. They have improved in every aspect compared to their predecessors and sound really good. They house 40mm, Free edge drivers, with low distortions at high volumes. They are comfortable, premium, look absolutely fantastic, and are built really well. I love the aesthetics of the Surface Headphones 2; they are minimalistic and stealthy. I absolutely adore their looks.  

What makes them stand out from the rest is the physical controls for volume and noise cancellation. They have 2 wheels on either earcup, one to control the volume and the other for noise cancellation. With 13 levels of noise cancellation control, it is a joy to use the dials to control them. I wish all headphone manufacturers had this feature; it is the most convenient way to control a headphone on this list. At 249$, there’s nothing to complain about them, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Bose NC Headphones 700 

The Bose NC Headphones 700 are another excellent pair of headphones that check all the right boxes while costing a fraction of the Airpods Max. The sound quality is dynamic and excellent. Any genre you listen to on these will sound fantastic. The NC 700s are also better when it comes to noise-cancelling only losing to the XM4s from this list. They will cut you off from the world, even in some of the noisiest places.

This coupled with decent battery life and quick charge gives you 3 and a half hours of runtime from just 15 mins of charging, makes them one of the best wireless headphones you can buy.

AirPods Pro 

If you are looking for some Airpods Max exclusive features and don’t want to pay the price premium for them, get the Airpods Pro. These are some of the best true wireless earbuds and give some of the headphones in the price range and above a run for their money.

They feature all the bells and whistles of their bigger counterparts from Apple. They have spatial audio, seamless integration to you Apple devices and Siri access. They also have some of the best noise cancellation technology and cost almost a third of the Airpods Max. They sound excellent too, I would consider them over headphones in this price range.

Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless Headphones 

If you are on the market for a pair of headphones that sound perfect, look the coolest, built so good to almost perfection, and have the best connectivity look no further than the Sennheiser Momentum 3. They are the most detailed sounding headphones on this list, and the bass is right on point.

They are comfortable and are premium. They support aptX low latency and this makes them great to watch movies and videos. They have excellent controls from their app including equalizer controls. The Momentum 3s fall short in the ANC category, as they fall short of their categories, for everything else, these are absolutely amazing.

The Beats Solo Pro are another gorgeous looking headphone, yet minimalistic, it’s great to see minimalism being appreciated by manufacturers. These on-ear options, use Apple’s own weapons against them. They feature the same H1 chip found in the Airpods Pro and Airpods Max. These are one of the cheapest Headphones on this list yet the deliver a premium experience.

They sound like any other Beats, only a lot better, these are some of the best sounding Beats ever. They have some nifty button controls and support Apple’s voice assistant, Siri. The bass-heavy sound, with the awesome design and the comparatively cheaper price, make these an exciting option for anyone.

Jabra Elite 85h 

Jabra Elite 85h are the longest lasting headphones on this list, with a rated 35-hour battery life, they run circles around the other headphones on this list. They are very comfortable and don’t strain your head over long hours, they can also be used while charging.

The out of the box sound may not be something that sets them apart but with the equalizer in the Jabra app, you can tune them to your liking. The Elite 85h looks stunning, are pleasingly comfortable, last longer than you can, provide decent noise cancelling with decent sound, all for less than a third of the Airpods Max’s price.

Some other honorable mentions include Bose QuietComfort 35 II, Marshall Monitor II A.N.C. Bose’s offering is older yet are an excellent pair of headphones. The Marshall Monitor IIs are regarded highly for their design and sound quality with solid noise cancellation. 

The Airpods Max pose an interesting question, would you pay significantly more for slightly better in certain areas over some of the best wireless headphones in the market. The answer is simple, people will buy but they are not worth it. Apple being apple command 550$ for the Airpods Max, and they know what they are doing because people being people are dumb and still buy them.

I am not taking anything away from what Apple has engineered. The Airpods Max are very good headphones, but they have their faults and in no part of the world should they cost so much. Yet they do which only puts the future of premium wireless headphones in a bad situation for the consumers. Now that the other manufacturers know that people are willing to pay so much, they are going to charge more for their future headphones.  

It is good to steer away from the Apple Airpods Max, as there are some really amazing headphones in the above list. And you can buy two pairs of most of those headphones and still have some cash for left. And if you are an Apple fan and want all things Apple, get 3 of the Airpods Pro for a little over the price of one Airpods Max. And if you are a headphone person, get the XM4s or NC 700s or the Surface Headphones as they all are excellent headphones for their price. 

You can go with any of the above headphones. And I would advise you to stay away from the Airpods Max because they are not worth it in the slightest sense and don’t waste your money.

Inside the Box 

The Powerbeats Pro clone comes with a host of things. Firstly it has an instruction manual in Chinese and English. It has a Micro-USB charging cable to recharge the box, two sets of ear tips with differing sizes to help you find the right fit. Finally, you have the charging box and the earbuds inside. 

The Design 

The case has a slight matte finish which is strong and sturdy. It will fit in your pocket, but it’s not as petite as the Airpods. This means that if you are wearing tight pants, they will jut out. Also, you can’t get cool and stylish cases for this charging box like you can do for the Airpods. That part is a bit of a bummer. 

The earbuds themselves has a hook design where they go behind your ear while the buds go inside your ear. This is reminiscent of the old-school Bluetooth headsets we saw in movies in the early 2000’s which were pretty cool. 

The ear loops, the small pieces that goes over your ear is super flexible and soft and does not brush up against your ear. 

There is also a volume rocker that you can access directly with ease. The volume rocker also doubles up as a song changing button. Just another extra push and you can change the song. 

Also the power button, instead of  the Beats, ‘b’ is a power symbol, which is still awesome.

Pairing the Powerbeats Pro Clone 

It uses Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity which is the latest standard. When you take them out of the box, they are automatically turned on and you can pair them like any other Bluetooth device. After the first pairing, you can immediately pair automatically every time you take out the earbuds out of the box. 

It works with both iOS and Android, Windows and Mac devices which is perfect. 

Features and Specifications 

The charging box for the Powerbeats Pro Clone is in itself a beast. It can easily charge both the earbuds 4 to 5 times with ease. The earbuds itself can be used for 10 hours continuously on a single charge. 

Now this puts all the Airpod clones to shame, as this more than doubles the battery time of those products.

Inside the case is a small LCD display that gives you information on the battery that is still left. This is perfect because you don’t need to access this information from your phone. The best part? This LCD display isn’t available on the original Powerbeats Pro and this is an addition which is super valuable. 

Similar to the Powerbeats Pro, this clone has a ‘Power’ button that can be turned on and off manually. So even when they are outside the box and when not in use, you can turn them off. 

You can use the power button to activate the voice command. Coming to the buds themselves, they are your traditional earphone buds. These are the most compact and fit best compared to all other products out there.

Considering this is a product that is built for athletes and gym goers, it goes without saying it’s sweat proof and water proof. This means you can easily drop it in a glass of water and nothing happens. 

The Sound 

Is it better than the Airpods? 

I hate to say it. But the fact is, the Powerbeats Pro Clone has better sound than the actual Airpods and that is achieved with the more snug design and the bass is fantastic on this device.

There is also a microphone in this product that lets you take hands free calls. The Mic sound is way better than most products out there and in fact it’s brilliant. When you are taking calls or listening to music, you can independently use the left one or the right one. 

Final Call 

One of the best allround performers that ticks every box and beats every estimates is the Powerbeats Pro Clone. I’m caught in a conundrum because these actually might be better than the Airpod Clones and that is something to think about. 

This product has an amazing battery life of over 10 hours on 80% battery and has superb sound that you will not go for any other product.

In terms of utility – this product easily beats all the other competitors. 

• It has better portability compared to headphones
• It has better sound than the Airpods
• It has no wire issues such as traditional earphones 

This is one of the best out there.

It’s pretty easy to tell when there are no actual logos and signage. The original has the ‘b’ logo on the side, whereas the fake powerbeats pro have no logo on the side or a slightly different design.

When it comes to superior quality affordable earbuds, the products developed by Xiaomi have a dominating presence in the market. For the past few years, the company has consistently evolved and upgraded their wireless earphones to offer similar technology used in Apple’s Airpods. In this article we will discuss the top Xiaomi earbuds and their features.

Top Xiaomi Earbuds 2022

Xiaomi AirDots 3

Released back in 2021, the AirDots 3 is perhaps one of the best TWS earbuds Xiaomi has released till date and not only does it look and feel like the AirDots 2, there are a couple of significant changes I noticed with the newer model that truly enhanced my listening experience.

One thing I loved about the AirDots 3 is that it has a larger and much more efficient battery than the AirDots 2 and with the new 600mAh capacity, I was able to use the earbuds for up to 7 hours on a single charge.

The earbuds are slightly longer and thicker too, this proved beneficial to me because unlike the 2, the new AirDots 3 sits snug in my ears and they don’t fall out often with even the slightest movement.

In terms of the functionality, the controls receive an upgrade from their predecessor and the AirDots 3 has touch sensors that are situated under the faceplate of both the left and right earbuds. These sensors were quite sensitive and the response was rather instantaneous. I could control the music playback and answer/disconnect calls simply by tapping the sensor. 

Another brilliant feature of the AirDots 3 which made me consider buying it, is that it’s powered by Bluetooth 5.2 and this improves the range of connection as well as minimizes any disturbances while traveling in areas with multiple wireless signals. From what I tested, there was no drop in the signal and there was clear, uninterrupted playback regardless of where I was.

Quite like the Air 2 SE we’ve covered below, the AirDots 3 delivers impressive sound quality with each tone sounding natural and detailed. 

However, I did hit some snags and noticed that the AirDots 3 is not designed to take on different genres of music and did well mostly with pop, instrumental and orchestra, but performed poorly while listening to rock or metal at high volumes.

Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro

Looking at the price tag and what’s under the hood, the Redmi Buds 3 Pro is what I consider to be fantastic value for money. It was released late 2021 and has so many incredible features that at first we thought it was going to be priced over the stars.

The Redmi Buds 3 Pro takes things up a notch and uses 9mm dual dynamic drivers along with Qualcomm’s aptX codec to deliver low-latency sound regardless of what we were using the Buds 3 Pro for. 

With a built-in rechargeable battery, the Buds 3 Pro can last up to 7 hours on a single charge and thanks to the charging case that comes with the earbuds, we could get up to 28 hours worth of playback making it the perfect companion for road trips, handling calls, listening to music and even watching movies throughout the day.

A point i’d like to make is, the Buds 3 Pro can charge fast and by this I mean that 10 minutes of charge in its case is more than enough to get another 3 hours of playback. The case supports USB-C, so the charging speeds are a atd faster than others that use microUSB cables.

In terms of build quality, the Buds 3 Pro carries an IPX4 rating which protects the earbuds from water damage, but is not entirely waterproof. It also comes with other built-in features that can enhance the user’s experience such as ANC and dual connectivity.

The only drawback I felt was that Xiaomi could have done a bit more in terms of the sound quality as serious audiophiles would prefer to go with another pair of TWS earbuds as the AirDots 3 lacks studio-grade clarity.

Xiaomi Airdots Pro 2 (Air 2)

In September, 2019, Xiaomi launched the closest replica of the Apple Airpods for the Android users. This product was an upgrade on the previously launched Airpods 2 and offered high quality audio at surprisingly affordable prices.  

These earbuds were developed following the stem design and offered up to 14 hours of playback time. The device also features a 14.2mm dynamic driver unit that cancels the surrounding noise to provide an uninterrupted experience. Moreover, the earbuds can be fully charged within just an hour and it lasts for nearly 4 hours. It can be automatically paired with any devices and that is what makes it the best alternative of the Apple Airpods 2.

The Mi Airdots Pro 2 case is made of ABS plastic that makes it weightless and easier to carry around. The matt finishing on the other hand makes the case less vulnerable to scratches. Magnetic pins hold the earbuds safely inside the case and prevent it from falling off even if the entire case is turned upside down. Also, the earbuds are water and sweat proof and therefore, can be used during work out sessions.

Xiaomi Air 2s (Airdots Pro 2s)

Just like its predecessor (Airdots Pro 2), the design of Xiaomi air 2s or Airdots Pro 2s was deeply inspired by that of Apple AirPods 2. These earbuds come with an entirely white body and semi in-ear design for the convenience of the users. While the Airdots Pro 2 lacked a long battery life, the Air 2s has a prolonged battery life of almost 24 hours.

The audio quality is amazing, despite that fact that there is no noise cancelling feature in this device. But has little effect on the quality of the calls. And just like the AirPods Pro, the Air 2s earbuds come in a case with an LED indicator that shows us the status of the battery. It also features Bluetooth 5.0 that ensures fast and stable connections with the smartphones. The battery can be fully charged within an hour and it provides almost 5 hours of play time. Another important specification of this product is that it includes a 14.2mm composite diaphragm that offers a bass rich sound experience.

Xiaomi Mi Air 2 SE

Xiaomi Mi Aie 2 SE is another reliable yet budget friendly TWS earbud that offers similar experience as of the Airpods. The audio quality is undoubtedly stunning and has the environmental noise cancellation feature. This helps the users to enjoy music or attend important phone calls without any interruptions.

What is even more amazing is the fact that it has a truly long lasting battery life that provides a whopping 20 hours of playback time. Although Haylou GT1 has the similar design as that of the original Haylou GT1, this is an uber-cool upgrade of the previous version. Its specifications include an astonishing battery life, noise cancellation features, voice assistant (wakes up at double touch) and Bluetooth 5.0 wireless technology that ensures fast speed transmission, stable connectivity and low power consumption.

The batteries last up to 26 hours, enabling users to enjoy an uninterrupted music streaming experience. The earbuds also have an ergonomic and lightweight design that makes it easier to carry around.
