Mid-Range: Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G vs Oppo Find X2 neo vs Vivo iQoo 7 5G

Vivo vs Oppo

Here are three of the best mid-range smartphones from Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo that have been crafted to target the younger generation. They all come with different processors, displays, camera setups and more, so let’s check out which one of the three is a better choice for you.

Hardware

The Vivo iQoo 7 is powered by a 2.84GHz Octa Core Snapdragon 888 processor whereas the Oppo Find X2 Neo uses a Snapdragon 865 and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has an older Snapdragon 780G processor.

In terms of storage, the Vivo iQoo 7 offers 8GB and 12GB RAMs along with built-in memory of 128 and 256GB. The Oppo offers the same storage and RAM options, with the exception being one more variant which is 256GB/12GB and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has a total of three variants which include 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB.

The Vivo and Mi come equipped with customizable versions of Android 11 but the Oppo runs on Android 10 which can be upgraded later on to ver 11.

Display

The Oppo Find X2 Neo has a better display among the lot, a 6.7”AMOLED display that delivers 402 pixels per inch and offers a refresh rate of 120Hz along with HDR10+ processing capabilities.

The Vivo iQoo 7 falls in second place with a smaller display at 6.62” and a 1080pi resolution with 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+.

Xiaomi oppo vivo compared

On the other end of the spectrum lies the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite with the smallest screen of the lot. It uses a 6.55” AMOLED screen that delivers HD resolution at 90Hz refresh rate. It’s not the best display out there for that budget and without doubt, the Vivo has the best display among the three.

Camera

Again, you will notice that all three camera setups are different. The iQoo 7 comes with a 48MP quad camera setup that has optical image stabilization and PDAF, the Find X2 Neo has a 48MP triple camera setup with Laser auto focus, optical image stabilization and PDAF sensors whereas the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has a larger 64MP triple camera setup with only PDAF and does not include OIS or laser auto focus.

Oppo vs Vivo

The Xiaomi and Vivo take better quality videos thanks to their 4K capabilities and gyro-EIS but the Oppo caps out at 2K with HDR.

In terms of the front facing camera, the Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi have a single lens of 32MP, 16MP and 20MP respectively. All three devices are great depending on the type of photos and videos you want to take. We found that the mid-range device with the better camera setup is the Vivo iQoo 7, hands down.

Battery

The largest and most powerful battery in this segment belongs to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite with their 4250mAh Li-Po battery that is capable of 33W fast charging.

The second in line is the Find X2 Neo with a 4200mAh battery and an impressive 65W fast charging capabilities and the one with the smallest battery is the iQoo 7 with a 4000mAh rechargeable battery.

However, among the three, the Vivo iQoo 7 is the only device to provide 120W fast charging capabilities allowing the device to go from 0% to 100% in under 15 minutes.

Overall Verdict – The best all round mid-range device is the Vivo iQoo 7 5G because it comes with a newer processor, a powerful battery, large display and an overall better camera set up than both the Oppo find X2 Neo and the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite.

Budget-Friendly: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 vs Oppo A54 5G vs Vivo Y20s

Xiaomi vs Oppo vs Vivo Which is better

Finally, we’re down to the budget friendly section. These devices are priced under $250 and offer better specs than competitors whose devices fall within the same category. Let’s break them down to determine which is the best budget friendly smartphone among Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi.

Hardware

All three budget devices run on Octa core processors with different chipsets. The Vivo Y20s comes with a MediaTek Helio G80 chip, the Oppo A54 5G uses the Snapdragon 480 whereas the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset.

In terms of storage space and RAM, Xiaomi tops the charts with a base of 4GB RAM, a mid segment 6GB and a top tier 8GB RAM along with 64GB,125GB and 256GB storage variants. Second in line is the Vivo Y20s that is 6GB/128GB and the last spot goes to the Oppo A54 with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The storage space on all three devices can be expanded with a microSDXC card. It’s also good to know that the Note10, A54 and the Y20s all come with multiple built-in sensors like proximity, compass, accelerometer and even in-display fingerprint sensors.

Display

All three displays are similar in terms of size, screen to body ratio and deliver 16M colors. The one thing that’s different is with the Vivo Y20s because it uses a display that does not process 1080, but it is restricted to 720, so you’re going to experience a drop in the overall display quality.

Which is the best Chinese smartphone brand

The Oppo A54 and Note 10 have a refresh rate of 90Hz with the A54 being slightly brighter than the Note 10 by 80nits. Based on our experience, the Xiaomi Note 10 and Oppo A54 are on par in terms of quality and size of the display whereas the Vivo is not as great and won’t do well in low lit environments.

Camera

When taking the performance of the camera into consideration, we loved that the Note 10 and Oppo A54 deliver crisp, clear and blur free images via their 48MP lenses. However, the Y20s was not as great since it used an extremely small 13MP lens which is not great in this day and age.

Looking at video quality, all three devices record at 1080p at 30 frames per second which is the base quality you can ask for these days. With the help of the LED flash, all three devices can shoot night videos and pictures but I wouldn’t advise you to get your hopes up as they don’t do a good enough job of capturing night shots well.

Xiaomi vs Oppo

The selfie cameras are again not as good as we hoped. The Xiaomi and Vivo come with 8MP single lens cameras while the Oppo A54 gets a 16MP single lens. All three can shoot videos at 1080p and the only difference here is that the Xiaomi and Oppo can shoot panorama whereas the Vivo can not.

Battery

All three batteries are 5000mAh and support fast charging. The only difference in terms of their battery life and performance is that the Vivo and Xiaomi offer 18W wired fast charging whereas the Oppo only lets you fast charge at 10W.

Overview

Overall Verdict – The best device from this category is actually a tie between the A54 and the Note 10. They’re both powerful devices with better processors, cameras and are built to last. The Y20s does not offer the same level of performance and is much slower.

Takeaway

To summarize from the article Xiaomi vs Oppo vs Vivo, it’s evident that all these devices are different from each other regardless of which category you look at. Xiaomi has a bunch of upgraded tech built-into their devices but it still lacks a few features that Oppo has happily included in their products.

If you’re looking for a high-end smartphone, go for either the Find X3 Pro or the X70 Pro+. For those who prefer mid-range smartphones, you can choose the Vivo iQoo 7 since it has all you would need in that price range and if you’re on a tight budget, then make sure you check out the Oppo A54 or the Xiaomi Note 10.

I’ve given you the breakdown of the main differences between the flagship, mid-range and budget devices from Xiaomi Oppo and Vivo. Now it’s up to you to make your final decision based on what budget  you have and the kind of performance you are looking for.

How does the Xiaomi Band detect sleep? Mi Band Sleep Tracking Accuracy Revealed! https://bestchineseproducts.com/how-does-the-xiaomi-band-detect-sleep/ Mon, 21 Aug 2023 11:10:29 +0000 https://bestchineseproducts.com/?p=15248 To notch up the fitness game, Xiaomi bands have introduced a distinctive feature to track your sleep cycle to improve your sleeping pattern. Read more below on the key takeaways and features of Mi sleep trackers.

Do you have trouble following a fixed sleeping pattern? Smart gadgets tycoon Xiaomi has a perfect solution with a sleep tracker and detector Mi band. Read below on how to activate it on your wrist!

According to a credible survey report, sleep problems are on the rise globally, and 45% of the populace suffer from sleep deprivation and other adverse effects from sleeping disorders. The main culprit is the changing lifestyle and the modern-day stress-filled work and life.

Several electronic gadget companies have included a sleep detecting app to combat sleep problems.

Sleep trackers detect and analyze your sleep cycle thereby, giving rational solutions to the cause of the sleep disorders. The electronic gadget giant Xiaomi has introduced Mi bands that detect sleep patterns through complex mechanisms.

So without further ado, let’s look at some of the outstanding features of Xiaomi bands for sleep detection and how it works.

Xiaomi Mi Band Sleep Tracking Accuracy

Before we get into the specifics, let’s understand the accuracy of the Xiaomi Mi Band. The Mi Band 8 as it’s the latest of the Mi Band’s, has a not so good sleep tracking accuracy. In fact, it cannot recognize different stages of sleep. You would be better off with the Fitbit and Apple watches if you want to accurately measure sleep. In the chart below, you can see the MI Band 7 is in the bottom pile in identifying the Worst Sleep Stages of your sleep patterns.

sleep tracking accuracy xiaomi mi band

The Xiaomi band uses body movements to monitor the sleep cycle, and the phone’s algorithm will generate the report of your sleep irregularities.

All it does is track the heart rate, breathing pattern, and other factors like temperature, noise, and light to analyze the sleeping pattern.

Mi bands have three prominent biosensors to detect your sleep: accelerator, gyroscope, and PPG. The working principle is the same in all these cases. They sense irregular motions, and the rest period is identified as sleep.

Accelerometer

It is a sensor that detects all kinds of body movements. Your body inevitably produces different types of displacements when you sleep. The six-axis accelerometer in the Mi band detects these slight motions and gravity changes.

Hence the band worn on the wrist converts these wrist movements into sleep patterns. It concludes that having zero body movements is a state of sleep, and rigorous movements as the state of awakening from the sleep state, thereby helping deduce sleep patterns.

Gyroscope

A gyroscope is a motion sensor that detects angular displacement like tilting and rotation. Your wrist makes various irregular movements during the entire sleep cycle period and is believed to be still during a deep sleep state. The gyroscope uses this analogy to take readings.

PPG

PPG is a sensor that records heart rate from the surface of the wrist. Most wearables use a PPG sensor to detect heart rate. It works on the principle of shining infrared light to detect the blood flow rate in the portion of the skin illuminated with light.

What types of sleep parameters does the Xiaomi band track?

Before diving straight into how the Mi detects various sleep parameters, let’s understand each parameter in detail.

Sleep tracking is of three types: Light sleep, deep sleep, and Rapid Eye Movement (REM). Light sleep is suggested for your memory and makes up for half of your sleep. Deep sleep is vital to build immunity and recover from physical fatigue. REM sleep happens when you have dreams and when coMing out of sleep. It helps restore mental health.

Does Mi band support sleep monitoring during the day?

The Mi band does support it and here’s an article from Xiaomi relating to that.

How do Mi bands track light sleep?

Light sleep is a transitional stage between awake and sleep. You can be woken up easily during light sleep, and body movements are Minimum. Mi bands track light sleep with the help of an accelerometer and heart sensor.

When the body movements and heart rate slows down, it detects the phase of light sleep.

How does the Mi band track deep sleep?

Deep sleep occurs after the period of light sleep. It is a state of complete unconsciousness. During this, the heart rate and blood pressure drastically slow down. It is picked up by the sensor and identified as a state of deep sleep mode.

How does the Mi band track REM sleep?

It is the last stage of the sleep cycle where the brain is at complete rest. When the body is in the REM sleep mode, it experiences more variations in the heart rate. Thus the accelerometer and heart rate sensors differentiate this as REM sleep.

Once you wake up from sleep, the Mi fit app collates the readings of the sleep cycle and notifies the result.

Is it safe to wear the Xiaomi band while sleeping?

You must wear the band on the wrist while sleeping for the sensors to detect even the slightest motion of your body. It gives rise to the obvious question. Are they safe to wear?

Generally, there is a wrong notion that wearables eMit harsh radiation and Might prove harmful to your body if worn for a longer time. While they eMit non-ionizing radiation, they are harmless.

Mi bands do not eMit radiation and hence pose no danger. In addition to that, the Xiaomi bands consume a low percent of battery, and there is no danger of battery heat penetrating your body and causing harm.

Another notable feature is that Mi bands are lightweight and do not cause any strain on your wrist if worn for the entire day.

How does the Xiaomi band know that you are sleeping?

While the sleep tracker in the Mi band looks stylish and elegant, it has several technological aspects running in the background. A couple of sensors like accelerometer and heart rate sensors detect the body movements during sleep, and convert them into valuable information on the sleep cycle.

Everyone has a different sleep pattern, and the Xiaomi band records it from the moment you go to bed till you wake up. It also identifies sleep during the daytime if you sleep for a longer time.

How does it know you are sleeping? It’s simple. When you sleep, the body movements are significantly low. It is the feature relied on in the Mi band. The body displacement and the heart rate gradually dips when you enter the phase of deep sleep.

What is the sleep tracking accuracy of the Xiaomi Band?

The Xiaomi Band sleep tracker is not 100% accurate as of the traditional way of detecting heart rate and temperature changes. It does not have a foolproof method to differentiate between the different types of sleep patterns.

You must remember that sleep trackers provide the readings of total sleep time. But the diagnosis and the conclusion drawn from the data is a separate area of expertise that requires medical intervention.

However, the Mi bands have a bunch of advanced sensors that can detect even the slightest displacement of your body.

To sum it up, sleep tracking features in Mi bands have an accuracy rate of 70% to 78%.

How to activate the Xiaomi band sleep tracker?

The sleep tracker on the Mi band is turned off by default to save battery life. Hence, you have to switch it on when necessary. Follow these steps outlined below to activate the sleep tracker on the Xiaomi band.

Download Mi Fit App on the smartphone

The official app synced with the Xiaomi smart band is the Mi Fit. Download it from the play store and keep it ready on your smartphone.

Tap on the Mi band on your wrist

Now, switch on the band by tapping on it, and the home screen becomes visible.

Open Mi Fit App and select the Profile option.

Open the Mi Fit app on the phone, and select the Profile menu in the lower right corner.

Select your device name

After clicking on Profile, you must select the device name of the Mi band on your phone.

Select heart monitoring menu

In the user interface, select the heart rate monitoring box.

Turn on the sleep assistant feature

In this menu, select the sleep assistant feature and activate it. When you go to sleep wearing this band, it will generate information on your sleep cycle.

The market price of the Xiaomi Band on Aliexpress

The Xiaomi band is water-proof with flexible straps and a sleep tracking feature that activates and records near-to-accurate data to make preliMinary guesses on your sleep pattern.

Aliexpress has a vivid collection of Mi bands at competitive rates. The Xiaomi bands on Aliexpress range between USD 35 to USD 45.

With the world leaning towards a modern lifestyle, there is a risk of falling trapped in unhealthy food and sleep habits that lead to stress and anxiety. Lack of sleep is an alarMing issue among most people.

Xiaomi bands detect different sleep patterns and heart rates and produce a sleeping chart. By knowing this, you can understand your sleep cycle better and make amends to improve the quality of your lifestyle.

They are not 100% accurate or unable to detect short 30-Minute naps. But it provides a quantifiable result of the sleep/wake cycle to change a few habits that adversely affect your sleep. Nothing is better than a lightweight wristband that favors your regular sleep!

Xiaomi cloud is very easy to use, especially in MI or Redmi smartphones. After signing in via your my cloud account, all you have to do is upload your file in the MI cloud app (available for both phones and desktops).

Listed below are detailed explanations of how to use the Xiaomi cloud in different ways and devices :

How to log in to Xiaomi Cloud through mobile device settings

If you already have a MI phone, you are in luck as you only have to log in via your Xiaomi account. To accurately login to and use the Xiaomi cloud feature, you must adhere to the following steps :

Step 1

Go to settings and check your MIUI version. (Preferable to update it to the latest available version).

Step 2

If your MIUI version is below MIUI 11, you will find the ‘MI account’ option. The interface is slightly different for those with newer versions. Click on it and create your MI account using your phone number or email.

Step 3

After creating your MI account, you will find the MI cloud option showing how much you have used out of the 5GB available (this value will invariably be zero for new users).

For those with newer MIUI versions (11 and above), go to settings > about phone > backup and restore > Xiaomi cloud. The rest of the procedure is similar.

Step 4

After entering the MI cloud tab, you will find many options, such as ‘find my device,’ ‘home screen backup,’ etc. Below you will notice a tiny ‘sync’ option written in blue.

Step 5

Click on the ‘sync’ option, and there, you will see a ‘turn on’ button informing you that Xiaomi cloud is not yet activated.

Step 6

Select what components you would like to back up (gallery, contacts, messages, call logs, etc.) and after selecting everything, click on ‘turn on.’

You are now set! All your selected components are now properly backed up and ready to use. However, you must back up your files on the MI cloud periodically.

How to use Xiaomi cloud on PC

If you want to access the contents of your phone from your pc, you can download the MI cloud app for your pc. After downloading the app, follow these steps.

Step 1

Login to your Xiaomi account on the Xiaomi webpage.

Step 2

After installing the MI cloud app on your pc, log in with all your details and valid credentials.

Step 3

After you have logged in with all your details, you will see many options to choose from (contacts, messages, gallery, call logs, etc.). Click on any to access your synced data from your Xiaomi phone and view them on your pc.

Step 4

You can also view the files on your computer on your phone. For that, you have to go to settings > about phone > backup and restore > computer (in the local tab).

How to manage photos and videos on Xiaomi cloud

After you have backed up your files, managing them is pretty straightforward. You can add, subtract, rename folders and even share files with other Xiaomi users.

To add a folder, follow these steps :

Step 1

Open the gallery app.

Step 2

Click on the cloud option.

Step 3

Tap on ‘new’ and name your new folder.

To remove or rename a folder, follow these steps :

Step 1

Open the gallery app.

Step 2

Click on the cloud option.

Step 3

Long press the folder you want to be deleted or modified.

Step 4

Select either the ‘rename’ or ‘delete’ option to rename or delete your desired folder accordingly.

To add photos and videos to your desired cloud folder, follow these steps :

Step 1

Open the gallery app.

Step 2

Select the photos and videos you want to be added to the Xiaomi cloud.

Step 3

Tap on the ‘add to album’ option and select the album you wish to add the photos. It can even be a new album.

To share files with another Xiaomi user :

  • Open the gallery app.
  • Tap on the cloud option
  • Long press to select the folder or file you want to share, and tap ‘share.’
  • You can remove a user from accessing your file by tapping the ‘share’ option again.

How to set up automatic Xiaomi cloud backup

As is already mentioned, you must remember to back up your files via the MI cloud periodically. If you feel that daily life might make you forget to do the same, you can enable an automatic cloud backup system that would automatically backup your selected files to Xiaomi cloud.

It is recommended to back up your files during the night when you do not use that much traffic.

To enable automatic backup, you must follow these steps :

Step 1

For newer versions (MIUI 11 and above), you must go to phone settings and click on the option ‘about phone.’

Step 2

Tap on ‘backup and restore.’

Step 3

Tap on the tiny gear option, which is the settings on the top right side of the page.

Step 4

An ‘additional settings’ page will open. Turn on the option ‘back up automatically.’

Step 5

After you turn on the automatic backup option, you can then set the days and time, which would determine how often and at which preferred time the automatic backups would be saved.

You can also manage your backups and select the items you would like to have automatically backed up.

This process is slightly different for devices with older versions of MIUI (10 or lower).

You would have to go to settings > MI cloud > automatic backups, from where you could toggle the backup on or off.

Some important features of Xiaomi cloud

The Xiaomi cloud service is gradually becoming a force to be reckoned with. It has even been recognized as a competitor of google drive services. Here’s why :

  • Easy and secure backup: You can easily backup all your essential files and folders on the go. The process is very hassle-free and offers a unique experience to those of the Xiaomi ecosystem.

The backup is encrypted with strict parameters, and not even the company itself can access user data.

  • Easy file sharing: File sharing over cloud services has never been easier. You can accurately send a file for other Xiaomi users to view with only a few clicks. The download and upload speeds are top-notch as well.
  • Remote access: With the Xiaomi cloud app on your phone or pc, you can control all other devices linked to your Xiaomi account from your device.

Xiaomi cloud has checked the correct boxes of many consumers. In no way does it seem too intimidating for a newcomer to understand the Xiaomi digital space, nor is it a painfully excruciating process plagued with trial and error.

However, one criticism, according to many users, is the limit of only 5GB of free space available to users compared to google drive’s 15GB free space.

While power users would feel a crunch for space, the average consumer would be more than happy to offload even 5GB of their phone storage, seeing the vast difference it would make to the phone’s battery life and general performance.

Xiaomi ventured into making more smart cars to offer many opportunities to sell digital products and services. Beyond electric vehicles, it also announced a US$2,000 OLED TV, besides adding 5G connectivity for everyone in its arsenal.

Xiaomi is known for providing high-quality products at affordable prices. It started by offering a radically different product, a free Android-based OS, in the crowded smartphone market. In just seven years, this strategy propelled them to global dominance.

The convenience of multiple selling platforms

Since Xiaomi manufactures various products like TVs, projectors, home security, speakers, vacuum cleaners, routers, and several others – it gives them an edge as the most competitive e-commerce platform. Hence, you can buy its products from different selling platforms at lower prices.

Choices for monthly subscriptions in home security

ADT is still a top choice for security services. They offer tons of features, from arm-disarm keypads to door and window sensors – ADT’s monitoring is included at no extra charge. ADT employees are on call 24/7, which means they contact local first responders like police or EMS as needed.

The suction mechanism for robotic vacuum cleaners

Robot vacuums give you the freedom to remain hands-free and let the robot do the dirty work. They have a powerful suction mechanism to pull dust, dirt, and small impurities off the floor and can drive themselves around on a set route to clean as much of the floor space in your home as possible.

Affordable fitness trackers

Mi Bands are affordable fitness trackers that track your exercises and daily activity. It can be a smartwatch that can run apps, place calls, and a fitness tracker. If you are looking for something with an improved display, battery life, and more fitness profiles, the older models of the Mi Band are worth considering.

Xiaomi is known for being transparent about the specs of its devices and is not afraid about bringing improved and better products. It highlights the good parts that people love and keeps prices competitive by selling directly to consumers via its website.

The most significant reason people should buy Xiaomi products is that it cuts out the middleman who takes a hefty chunk of the profits. Imagine – The largest smartphone manufacturer started without launching an actual phone. The explosive growth of the tycoon brought several lessons that others could learn.

Discounted prices

Xiaomi may not be a hardware company, but they make up for it in data. They engineer their products to be profitable yet affordable. They sell their devices at a slightly above-cost margin, undercutting the competition’s prices. It usually sets its prices to bill-of-materials, leaving customers with low prices and many discounted products.

Varied models for an extended period

The company releases only a handful of phones each year. But it also means their profit margins are insanely high. Xiaomi’s strategy is to launch a few significant phones each year and keep them available for quite a while. In the meantime, it releases subtle variations on those phones to stay fresh.

Online and Physical stores

Xiaomi’s focus on the emerging markets first and then the established ones turned out to be an intelligent move that increased its popularity. Besides selling online, Xiaomi also has physical stores to help consumers try out different products.

Foothold at every product

Xiaomi aims at being more than a smartphone name and continuously tries to offer consumer products. Being a growth driver for IoT devices, it maintains how to serve each segment of consumers – the reason why it has all different products from smart to electronic.

Xiaomi is on the path to joining the ranks of the first companies to offer a complete product portfolio controlled by a single app: Mi Home. It’s poised to produce top-quality and minimalistic products and give tough competition to some of the biggest manufacturers in the world. We predict Xiaomi will succeed in this new era, and we love its minimalistic design aesthetic.

Xiaomi vs Realme 2023 | Which is better? https://bestchineseproducts.com/xiaomi-vs-realme/ Wed, 16 Aug 2023 10:25:39 +0000 https://bestchineseproducts.com/?p=15177 Xiaomi has always been my go to brand for high-end smartphones on a budget. I’ve been using their products for a few years now and have been satisfied with their overall performance. However, it’s high time I upgrade my device and I thought “why not check alternative brands available in the market?”.

That’s when I happened to come across Realme, a child company of China’s biggest – Oppo. They are a new brand that has been around for a little over 3 years and have managed to gain quite the following in South Asian countries. Check out Xiaomi vs Realme to know more!

So, I went ahead and cross examined both brands to determine which is a better choice by taking three of their best smartphones from different price categories and putting them through a series of tests. I also decided to compare their wireless earbuds because I wanted a complete experience and didn’t want to mix and match earbuds from different brands.

Here’s what I found.

Xiaomi vs Realme: An Overview

If you’re looking for a high-end smartphone then stick to Xiaomi, Realme has not been able to match the performance levels of Xiaomi flagship devices and clearly Xiaomi is the better choice in this segment.

If it’s budget-friendly or mid-range devices you’re looking for, then Realme takes the cake with their well priced, performance driven smartphones. Unfortunately Xiaomi has compromised on using the latest technology in their lower end devices, something Realme has clearly avoided.

What is Realme?

Realme is a child company of Oppo that began in 2018 and since then has grown to be one of the highest selling smartphone brands in South Asia by 2021. They offer high quality smartphones at a bargain so they can compete with brands like Xiaomi and Samsung.

 Xiaomi vs Realme

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra  vs Realme GT2 Pro

Xiaomi vs realme better display

The Realme GT2 Pro was launched earlier this year, whereas the Xiaomi Mi Ultra was launched last year and both devices run on the Snapdragon 888 5G processor which is found in a majority of the flagship smartphones today. Both devices are priced around the same range, but the GT2 Pro is slightly more expensive than the Mi 11 Ultra by approx $100.

There are other key differences we found between these two flagship devices. They are:

Display

The Mi 11 Ultra has a larger screen which is 6.81” as compared to the GT2 Pro’s display which measures at 6.7”. Though the size might not seem like that big of a difference, the overall visual performance and quality of the display is what you need to consider.

For example, the Mi 11 Ultra uses an AMOLED display which produces 1B colors, offers 120Hz refresh rate and additional features like HDR10+ and Dolby Vision which are not available on the GT2 Pro.

Is realme better than Xiaomi

Both devices have Gorilla Glass Victus protection and come with 1440*3200 resolution, but the pixel density on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is greater than the GT2 Pro making it an overall better display.

Storage & RAM

In terms of storage and RAM, both the Mi 11 Ultra and the GT2 Pro come with 8GB/12GB RAM variants and offer UFS 3.1 internal storage options ranging from 128GB-512GB on the GT2 Pro and 256GB-512GB on the Mi 11 Ultra.

There’s not much difference between both devices when it comes to internal memory and RAM speeds. However, you can end up saving a few bucks on the Realme GT2 Pro 8GB/128GB variant. Also, it’s good to know that both these devices do not offer expandable memory options, so make sure you pick the right one for your needs.

Camera Setup

Taking the primary and selfie cameras into account, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is equipped with a 50MP triple camera set up that includes a 50MP primary wide lens with OIS and dual pixel PDAF, a secondary 48MP periscope telephoto lens camera with built in OIS, PDAF and 5x Optical zoom and a third 48MP ultrawide lens with PDAF.

The Realme GT2 Pro on the other hand comes with a 50MP primary wide lens with OIS and multi-directional PDAF, a secondary 50MP ultrawide lens and a third 3MP microscope lens with AF and 40x magnification.

Xiaomi vs Realme better camera

Both cameras are epic, but while the Xiaomi does well in full sized shots, the Realme performs better in terms of close ups and far off images.

The front cameras are also different, the Realme has a 32MP wide single lens that supports HDR and panorama whereas the Mi 11 Ultra uses a lower resolution 20MP wide single lens with HDR processing capabilities.

Flagship Verdict – The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, though an older device, can outperform the GT2 Pro which is Realme’s flagship of 2022. The Mi 11 Ultra is faster, bigger, has a better display and higher resolution camera. It’s also slightly cheaper than the Realme GT2 Pro which is a plus point in our books.

Xiaomi Mi 11X vs Realme GT Neo2

realme vs Xiaomi

Coming to the mid-range performers, both the Xiaomi Mi 11X and the Realme GT Neo2 run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which ensures a smooth user experience and balanced performance. Both devices are priced under $350 and offer similar features and levels of performance.

Display

There is a very small difference between the displays on the Mi 11X and the GT Neo2 such as the latter is 0.05” smaller than the 11X and that it comes with a regular AMOLED display unlike the Xiaomi which is equipped with a 120Hz Super AMOLED display for better visual performance.

Is xiaomi better than realme

Apart from this, both displays come with 1080*2400 px resolution and use Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Storage & RAM

The Realme GT Neo2 offers better RAM and storage than the Mi 11X. It comes with a base RAM of 8GB with an upgrade to 12GB and storage options of 128GB/256GB unlike the GT Neo2 which offers a low 6GB RAM and a secondary 8GB RAM apart from the standard 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Camera Setup

Both devices come with a triple rear camera set up, but the Realme GT Neo2 is equipped with a 64MP PDAF lens whereas the Mi 11X comes with a lower resolution 48MP lens. The overall quality of the rear camera setup is better on the Realme than Xiaomi.

xiaomi vs realme better for gaming

In terms of the front facing camera and video capabilities, the Xiaomi Mi 11X records better videos and comes equipped with a better resolution selfie camera. Both devices deliver clear images and videos and thanks to the built-in LED flash, you get low light  images in full resolution as well.

Battery Capacity

Considering the price of these devices, you’d expect them to come equipped with low 3500mAh batteries. But Xiaomi and Realme have stepped up their game and have equipped them with large 4520mAh and 5000mAh batteries respectively.

Both devices offer quick charge capabilities, the Xiaomi Mi 11X charges at 33W allowing it to attain full charge of 100% in under an hour whereas the GT Neo2 uses a better charger and delivery system of 65W which can get the device to full capacity in under 35 minutes.

The Mi 11X also comes with Quick Charge 3+ and Power Delivery 3.0, but considering their batteries run out quite fast, Xiaomi should have invested in upgrading the battery a bit over adding charging features to their device.

Mid-Range Verdict – Though both the Xiaomi Mi 11X and the Realme GT Neo2 look and feel alike, they are different in so many ways. Apart from the displays used (which is sort of similar), the Realme GT Neo2 comes equipped with better storage options, has a better camera setup and uses a high-performance 5000mAh battery with quick charge capabilities making it the better choice among the two.

Xiaomi Redmi 10 vs Realme 8

Xiaomi smartphone vs Realme smartphone

Now it’s time to break down the budget-friendly options, the Redmi 10 and the Realme 8. Both devices are priced under $200 and while they both run on Octa core processors, there’s a difference in terms of the chipset and other key features. Let’s take a quick look at which one is the better budget-friendly choice.

Processors

Both the Xiaomi Redmi 10 and the Realme 8 run on MediaTek processors with eight cores under the hood. But surprisingly, the Redmi 10 comes equipped with an older chipset, the MediaTek Helio G88 whereas the Realme 8 uses the latest G95 chip making it a better performer.

Even the graphics processors are different with the Xiaomi using an older Mali-G52 MC2 and the Realme using a new and improved Mali-G76 MC4. They run smooth, but you will notice a slight difference in load times and a lag while scrolling through apps on the Xiaomi because of the older processor.

Display

Xiaomi devices are known for their beautiful displays and even though the Redmi 10 is quite an affordable device, Xiaomi has managed to equip it with a clear 90Hz 6.5” LCD display. However, that’s not a match for the 6.4” Super AMOLED screen with HDR10 that’s on the Realme 8.

Xiaomi vs Realme phones

Both devices cap out at 1080p resolution and roughly the same pixel density which is pretty decent. I would recommend the Realme for the display in this segment mainly because it’s built to deliver better quality visuals and a brightness of 100 nits (peak).

Storage & RAM

If it’s RAM and storage variants  you’re looking for, the Realme 8 wins hands down. It comes with 4GB/6GB and even 8GB RAM variants along with UFS 2.1 internal storage options of 64GB and 128GB which is ideal for hundreds of photos and videos.

The Xiaomi Redmi 10 on the other hand comes with two RAM variants 4GB and 6GB along with two eMMC 5.1 internal storage variants; 64GB and 128GB. In terms of boot speed, the Realme 8 is much faster thanks to the UFS2.1 over the slower eMMC 5.1. With both devices you get a dedicated microSDXC slot that you can use to expand your storage up to 512GB.

Camera Setup

Now coming to the camera setup on both the Xiaomi Redmi 10 and the Realme 8, both devices use quad cameras, but the Realme comes equipped with a larger resolution lens and 4K video recording capabilities which the Xiaomi lacks.

Images and videos are clearer and more detailed on the Realme 8 and with the help of the built-in camera sensors, this smartphone can record and shoot in HDR way better than the Redmi 10.

xiaomi vs realme

The front facing camera on the Realme 8 is also better than the one on the Redmi 10. Realme has used a nice 16MP HDR lens that is capable of 1080 video recording and uses a gyro-EIS program to produce detailed and crisp images. The Xiaomi uses an 8MP single lens HDR camera which is great, but not as good as the Realme 8.

Specifications

Xiaomi Redmi 10Realme 8
ProcessorMediaTek Helio G88MediaTek Helio G95
Display6.5” IPS LCD;90Hz, HDR106.4” AMOLED;60Hz, HDR10
Camera50MP Quad + 8MP Single64MP Quad + 16MP Single

Memory/Storage4GB/6GB RAM;64GB/128GB4GB/6GB/8GB RAM;64GB/128GB

Budget-Friendly Verdict – The best budget smartphone title belongs to Realme with their high-performance low-budget smartphone, the Realme 8. It has a better camera, processor, battery and even storage/RAM options than the Xiaomi Redmi 10. Also it’s priced around $30 lower than the Xiaomi making it the ideal choice for those on a tight budget.

Overall Verdict: Xiaomi vs Realme – Smartphones

Based on our tests and what we experienced, Xiaomi remains undefeated in their high-end devices, but as we moved on to the mid-range and budget devices it became evident that Realme does a better job of delivering high-performance machines for cheaper prices.

If you need a device for everyday use and are on a budget then the best choice you got is Realme. However if you want a flagship worthy device and don’t mind how much you’re going to spend then stick to Xiaomi and you won’t be disappointed.

Xiaomi vs Realme – Earbuds

Xiaomi Redmi AirDots vs Realme Buds Q

Xiaomi vs realme earbuds

Yes, there are earbuds from brands like Apple, Bose, Beats and Sony that will give you a true theater-grade listening experience. But it’s always better to stick to earbuds manufactured by the same company as your smartphone.

That being said, Xiaomi and Realme have launched a bunch of earbuds you can buy. They are much more affordable and far more effective than big name brands especially if you pair them with your Xiaomi/Realme smartphone.

But which one to go for? I’ve considered two of the best TWS Chinese earbuds in the market for this comparison, the Xiaomi Redmi AirDots and the Realme Buds Q.

Let’s take a look at some key specs from each device as we determine which earbuds are the best.

Design

When it comes to the overall design, the AirDots and the Buds Q are sleek and compact earbuds that sit comfortably in your ears. They both are designed to fit the contour of your ear canal and do not fall out if you’re jogging, running or just working out in general.

Both devices offer IPX4 protection from sweat/light splashes and have been made from premium-quality materials and components. You can also pick up either the Xiaomi Redmi AirDots or the Realme Buds Q in one of over 5 colors online, at the same rate.

Sound Quality

Ultimately, there are two main things to consider when buying earbuds, one is design and level of comfort and the second is the quality of sound produced through them. For example, both earbuds come with Stereo speakers that are capable of delivering sound from individual channels.

The Realme Buds Q uses 10mm Neodymium drivers which are well known for their heightened performance, whereas the Redmi AirDots come with traditional 7.2mm dynamic drivers which are pretty great but don’t deliver the best sound quality when compared to the Buds Q.

Battery Capacity

Connectivity

Both earbuds are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 that offer 10m range from your connected device. You would require the charging case only to pair the earbuds with your phone and you’re good to go.

Unfortunately, both devices do not support aptX or audio pairing using NFC which is pretty common these days. But considering these devices cost under $30, we can’t complain.

Additional Features

The good thing about these devices is that they both support fast charging technology so you can quickly charge your earbuds/charging case and get back to listening to music in no time.

The Buds Q and the AirDotos can be used as headsets to handle calls thanks to their built-in microphones and because of this you can also directly command your voice assistant to pull up information like the weather, news, read your messages, play music and more.

They’re user-friendly earbuds and you can download their proprietary software for your device from the Play Store and gain more control over the earbuds.

Overall Verdict – Xiaomi Redmi AirDots vs Realme Buds Q

Overall, I found the Realme Buds Q to be better than the Xiaomi Redmi AirDots. They have larger drivers which are neodymium magnets, can charge in a shorter span of time and offer more than 30% more playtime with the charging case when compared to the AirDots.

However, if you are on a tight budget and don’t mind compromising a bit on the sound quality and experience, then go ahead with the Redmi AirDots, you won’t regret it.

FAQ’s

Which is better, Xiaomi or Realme?

When it comes to high end smartphones, Xiaomi delivers better quality devices over Realme. Realme is better known for their mid–range and low-budget smartphones and high quality TWS earbuds.

Why are Realme phones so cheap?

Realme phones are cheap because Oppo has put in the effort and funding for Realme to take over the mid-range and budget segments. Also their devices are made in China and the overall cost to produce one smartphone is low when compared with other international brands

Takeaway

By now you must have realized that not all devices offer the same levels of performance even though their costs are quite similar. From this I was able to draw the conclusion that Xiaomi devices are good only if you’re going for a high-end flagship spec phone.

But if you want something that’s worth your money and available on a budget  then choose a Realme smartphone. You won’t regret it.

Both companies are unique in their own way and Realme is certainly catching up with Xiaomi in terms of sales performance and user satisfaction. Even their TWS Buds Q earbuds are not just affordable but offer a better user experience than the Xiaomi AirDots.

The 9RT 5G is a new flagship killer from OnePlus that features an excellent build, good performance and fast charging capabilities. It’s priced at a marginal $500 which is pretty decent considering what’s running under the hood.

Think of this device as one of the fastest and most capable OnePlus smartphones out there. The 9RT 5G is available in two storage variants and comes with 8GB and 12GB RAMs to choose from.

one plus 9RT chinese smartphone

It features the traditional OnePlus design and has a large 6.62” AMOLED display with a pinhole camera on the upper left corner of the screen. Though this Chinese smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 888, it does not come equipped with a 120Hz display, so you’re looking at a lower frame rate than most of the other devices listed here.

The camera is pretty solid on the 9RT as it comes with a 50MP IMX766 sensor, a 16MP ultra wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. You also get a large 4,500 mAh battery that supports warp charging at 65W to keep you connected at all times. However, the one drawback is that the 9RT 5G does not have any IP rating and is not waterproof or sweat resistant, so you will have to be careful where you take your phone.

Pros

  • Snapdragon 888 processor
  • Powerful camera set up
  • Solid battery life with warp charging

Cons

  • Not waterproof
  • 60Hz refresh rate

You can choose between 8GB and 16GB of RAM based on how fast you’d like the phone to run and it comes with 256 gigs of storage space along with a microSDXC card slot for all your photographs, videos and more.

It’s probably the first of its kind since it has not one or two, but three 64MP cameras and an 8MP sensor at the back. The Axon 10 Pro uses additional microphones for added noise cancellation and does not have a 3.5mm port, so you will have to resort to using Bluetooth headphones.

Apart from all this, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro is equipped with a 4600mAh battery and supports wireless fast charging, so if you’re looking for a true flagship, then consider buying the Axon 10 Pro, you will not regret it.

Oppo not only makes smartphones, but also makes headphones, amplifiers, earbuds and even smartwatches.

Oppo makes many types of smartphones that range in prices from the A series, which is a budget series to the Oppo Reno series which is a premium flagship smartphone.

Oppo’s strategy in the smartphone market is to bombard the market with numerous models at similar price points with different features, ensuring that the buyer ends up with an Oppo phone.

The Oppo Reno series is one of the first smartphones to come up with the pop-up camera.

Oppo’s most popular series are the A series, F series, X series, Reno series and the Reno2 series.

Lenovo

Lenovo Chinese mobile brand

A lot of people aren’t aware that Lenovo is a Chinese brand and not an American brand.

Nobody would have expected Lenovo to make this list, because Lenovo is mostly known for their laptops and desktop computers. In fact, Lenovo actually has a 3% market share in the mobile phone category.

Lenovo actually makes super budget phones that are under $100. Their budget phones are really popular and some of them are cheaper than the Redmi Note series. They have captured a sizable market share in the ultra-budget, sub-$100 smartphone category.

In the global premium segment smartphone category, One Plus has a 2% market share. The uniqueness of One Plus is that they are similar to Apple. They don’t release multiple smartphones, but they release incremental versions of the same phones.

One Plus moved away from it’s premium tag by coming up with the One Plus Nord in 2020, which is a $400 phone which is unlike the $600 phones they generally make.

One Plus is known for their superior features and elegant style and amazing cameras. One Plus devices are hands down one of the most sought after mid-range Android smartphones in the market.

In 2011, they made the first smartphone with the dual GPS/GLONASS navigation system. The name ZTE by itself may not ring a bell, but their branded smartphones are quite popular.

The Nubia series of phones are from ZTE. Apart from that there’s the Axon series, Blade series, Maven series and the Grand series.

Realme

Realme Chinese mobile brands

The new kid on the block, Realme has taken the world by storm. They’ve been a super strong competitor to Xiaomi’s budget phones and they are also part of the BKK group, which owns Vivo, Oppo, One Plus and Realme as well.

Realme is a budget, mid-range smartphone company. They are known for their amazing camera phones for cheap. They have double digit market share in countries like India and globally they are the fastest growing smartphone brand in the world.

TCL has massive market share in the Smart TV category and doesn’t have much of a share in the smartphone space. But their approach to the smartphone business has been interesting.

They have taken the One Plus route by manufacturing very few phones. The only smartphone series from TCL is the 10 series that has a few variations that are 10 SE, 10 Plus, 10 5G, 10 Pro, 10L.

Most of TCL’s phones are flagship material competing with the high-end phones of the other manufacturers.

Meizu might not be a household name like the other brands mentioned here. It was started in 2003 as a MP3 player manufacturer and they moved to making smartphones.

But most importantly, Meizu is very popular because of their version of the Android OS, Flyme. The Flyme has been used in numerous smartphones in the past that includes the One Plus, HTC, ZTE to name a few.

In terms of their smartphone offerings, Meizu makes some pretty amazing phones at great prices. Their popular phone series includes the X series, M series, E series, U series and the numbered series such as the Meizu 17 Pro, Meizu 16T and so on.

Buyer’s Guide: How to choose the best Chinese smartphone

Here are the tips you need to know when buying a chinese smartphone:

  • Research about the smartphone beforehand: This is a very basic yet important thing to choose a Chinese smartphone. It’s better to research well because most Chinese smartphone brands are not very famous. Check out the features of the phone, reviews from the previous buyers to know how the product actually is. Set yourself a budget and look for phones under your budget to not be a burden on your pocket. Shortlist 2-3 phones that are the best in the market for your budget before proceeding to buy.
  • 5G or no 5G?: This is an important question to think upon while buying a phone as everyone likes fast internet connection. Choose a 5G phone if you like heavy load video games or have office work on your phones. You have to check the correct LTE bands for your country to see if 5G works in your country or not. Many Chinese phones come without band20 which is an issue in the UK to use O2. It’s better to check for it in advance.
  • Free ROM:  China has restricted firewalls due to which the preinstalled Google suite apps aren’t available. They’re installed through a custom software package called ROM on the Android core. Some vendors ask if they require international ROMs that sometimes come with malware. It’s best to choose a phone with an unlockable bootloader and a micro SD card slot. You can manually install ROM if needed and avoid all the malware.
  • Setting up the phone: Most Chinese phones don’t come with a play store. So, you might require full fashing to download the play store on your android phone. Also, you’ll need to change the Chinese language to whatever language you’re comfortable with.
  • Choose a trusted vendor: This is where most buyers face troubles as they fall in trap of a fake vendor who tries to cheat them. Always check if the buyer is verified or not and read the feedback of the vendor when buying from Aliexpress. The positive feedback percentage can validate if the buyer is authentic or not depending on the percentage which should be higher than 95% in case of electronics. Also, always make payments through Aliexpress gateway and never directly transfer to the vendor’s bank account.

 Are Chinese phones durable?

Yes, Chinese phones are durable if you handle them with care. Most Chinese smartphone brands are globally amongst the top telecommunication brands like Xiaomi, Oneplus, Oppo, Vivo etc.

Is it okay to use a Chinese smartphone?

Yes, it’s completely fine to use a Chinese smartphone but make sure you buy your phones from a reliable vendor who sells authentic smartphones.

Are Chinese smartphones defective?

No, Chinese smartphones are not defective if you buy a well-known and branded smartphone like Oppo, Vivo, Oneplus etc. Research well about the Chinese handset you want to buy and buy it only if the brand is reliable.

Why are Chinese phones cheaper?

Chinese phones are cheaper because of Chinese manufacturing capabilities. They have the power of economies of scale, which means they are able to produce a lot more phones for much cheaper. From technical know how to supply chain to distribution, China knows the most efficient way to make and distribute phones.

What is the best cheap Chinese smartphone?

I’ll go with Umidigi. Umidigi as a brand is becoming quite popular in China and they have capabilities to manufacture smartphones, earbuds, smartwatches and more. As they are still not at the level of Xiaomi or Huawei, their pricing is quite reasonable, but their smartphones are pretty amazing!

Are Chinese smartphones reliable?

Brands like Xiaomi and Huawei are Chinese as well. They are reliable right? In fact, these phones are super popular worldwide. Chinese smartphones are reliable, but when it comes to very new brands in the market that has no name, you need to be a bit careful, as their smartphones might not be up to a certain standard. \

Now you have a list of phones to consider before investing in your new smartphone. Only be sure to check the network compatibility and you can there compare and contrast the features of these smartphones with any other flagship which comes at much expensive price. The Chinese Smartphones work incredibly well and also are well within the budget they are already giving brands like Apple serious competition. It is always wiser to choose a phone depending on features and price over a certain brand name.

Xiaomi Mi Handheld Portable Vacuum Cleaner G10 Review https://bestchineseproducts.com/xiaomi-handheld-portable-vacuum-cleaner/ Wed, 26 Jul 2023 04:27:34 +0000 https://bestchineseproducts.com/?p=15266 The evolution of vacuum cleaners led consumer electronics manufacturers to keep coming up with new and efficient ways to improve suction and use less power. Xiaomi isn’t the one who wants to be left behind while following the suit of manufacturing handheld, cordless, elegant, and affordable vacuum cleaners.

The latest addition in the Mi home by Xiaomi is an excellent cleaning machine – Mi Portable Vacuum Cleaner G9 G10. Xiaomi G10 is on its way to going beyond some of the biggest electronic manufacturers, offering a solid build, assortment of attachments, rechargeable batteries, brushless motor, and washable parts.

Xiaomi dwells deeper (on a study by Dyson) that highlights the existence of dust particles, allergens, and spores even after cleaning the entire house. Besides that, the Coronavirus pandemic brings attention to maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the surroundings.

The following sections in the review of the Mi G10 handheld vacuum cleaner would focus on:

  • Features and advantages
  • An extensive buyer’s guide and things to consider
  • Common questions by buyers

Xiaomi G10 Review

Xiaomi Mi Vacuum Cleaner G10 integrates a powerful, high-speed motor with a filtration system of 12 cyclones. Xiaomi brings substantial autonomy in its G10 cordless vacuum cleaner with a 3,000mAh battery 150 AW suction power, a TFT LCD, and a detachable 250 ml tank. G10 is a multipurpose vacuum cleaner as it makes it nearly effortless to scrub each corner, floor, couch, car seat, and cupboard.

However, if you feel that I’m just reading out the features from the instruction manual or an online ad, you are completely mistaken! I have used the latest Xiaomi Mi G10 vacuum cleaner myself and my personal experience was delightful.

Below, I’ll explain the features of the Mi G10 vacuum cleaner in detail and my personal experience.

High-definition back display panel

I loved this feature of having a display panel at the back with excellent definition. The TFT panel is the highlight of G10 that enables you to view all the information about the chosen mode and even the remaining minutes that you can use under it.

Some other vacuum cleaners that I used usually don’t show the remaining minutes and instead only a color-changing bar that indicates battery time. Moreover, you can set and configure the menu in 11 languages.

Excellent attachments for every cleaning need

When I look for a wholesome vacuum cleaner, attachments need to be according to each floor corner. Whether I want to clean dirt or fur balls of my pets – I would need a specific accessory to tend to that need. G10 provides an ensemble of various supplements as I open the box. For difficult places, it has two nozzles; for cleaning mattresses and soft areas, it contains a mini-brush.

What I found exciting was that I could charge two batteries parallelly on the wall docking station. Although you might have to buy the second battery separately, a docking station is a huge plus. The multi-surface brush has two enhancements – a smart torque and an anti-wrap system. The intelligent torque is terrific on the Standard mode when I used it on stubborn carpet dirt that wouldn’t have been possible earlier. You can also adjust the brush revolutions as you increase the speed of the vacuum cleaner.

Convenient dust dumping with higher suction

The anti-wrap system is a series of small flaps that helps me easily maintain daily cleanliness because it can eliminate even the smallest of hair tangles. Similarly, the extension tube works like a charm, especially for washing kitchen floors or a small surface.

I found emptying the tank easily accessible because the extension tube has a release button in the lower section leading up to the dust compartment. Hence, I don’t have to remove the mounted accessories every time, making it more straightforward than robotic cleaners.

It is lightweight and comfortable

I found it relatively easy to carry because of its lightweight at just under 1.7 kg. Also, the weight doesn’t exceed 2.5 kg even after attaching the extension tube and multi-surface brush. Further, I found the grip comfortable as it has a button enabling the continuous mode and saving me from pressing the trigger down for suction.

The innovative design of the G10 decreases its weight, without compromising on any feature that would heighten its comfortability. This is what I liked best about this lightweight G10 from Xiaomi – the minimal weight and the range of characteristics proves that the company is always invested in its innovation and design and the desire to create the ultimate cleaning solutions for the public.

Maximum power to clean almost any surface

The G10 by Xiaomi could give a run for money to its competitors with 12 cyclones to assist its digital motor. For me, it went perfectly smooth while cleaning any surface from farthest to closest in only a few rounds. However, for daily use, I recommend the Standard mode to strike a balance between autonomy and cleaning.

While it claims 10 minutes of runtime in maximum mode, I found the automatic mode depends more on the surfaces and use conditions. So, practically, the latter can give a runtime between 30 and 40 minutes – enough for my apartment of 120 sq. meters of floor area.

Drawbacks of Mi Vacuum Cleaner G10

  1. I found the brush unconvincing, as the rotating brush doesn’t suck coarse things.
  2. I also am not a fan of narrow suction, which doesn’t allow the dirt to collect rightly on the baseboard.
  3. The noise is extremely high at its full power and sometimes can also scratch and damage the furniture.

Extensive buyer’s guide to buying a handheld vacuum cleaner

What are the points for consideration while looking for a new vacuum cleaner? People often ask what to avoid, and some are confused about whether their older vacuum works well enough or if they should buy a newer model. Vacuum cleaners with new models have a lot of benefits that older models don’t have.

The truth is, while high-quality cleaners have a long life expectancy, new models are consistent with better performance. For one, they have better materials, which means they work more efficiently and last longer. Moreover, they have better suction, dirt removal, and air filtration.

Hence, a vacuum cleaner with advanced features like handheld, cordless, attachments, and washable parts; is a must-buy for every home. Below is a lowdown on the things to consider while buying one:

Decide your requirements and research

Handheld vacuum cleaners depend on the specifications like cord length, weight, motor power, filtration, and attachments. You can also look for renting options if you’re not sure a handheld cleaner would be ideal for your house.

Further, you can read the reviews, recommendations, experiences, and detailed product reviews on sites. Then, you can ask yourself these questions:

  • The type of residence and utility of vacuum cleaner
  • Type of floor from hardwood, tiles, low, medium, or high pile carpets, rugs, or a mix of them
  • Bagless or bagged cleaner
  • Allergy issues in family, pets, and fur type

Handling and maintenance

Handheld vacuum cleaners are a favorite among households because they can reach hard spots easily with faster pickups. Hence, the controls should also mirror the same convenience when changing the floor type and suction strength. Another important consideration is that the dirt cups stay devoid of any vacuumed dirt when emptying them into the trashcan.

The latest models by Xiaomi also have digital units to sense and measure the surrounding parameters and inform the user about the time to change, clean, or replace various parts.

Suction power and brushless motors

The suction power of the primary motor in Air Watts is one of the essential considerations to measure the cleaning performance of a vacuum cleaner. However, high suction power doesn’t guarantee good cleaning on thick carpets and pet hair. Hence, an excellent motorized brush roll for self-cleaning is a must-have feature.

A handheld vacuum cleaner with a suction power of 100-200 AW provides efficient suction power with brushless motors and powerful batteries.

Air filtration

Your vacuum exchanges the air you breathe, and sir filters help the air exchange be cleaner, so it’s essential to use the right filter for your vacuum. The better the filter, the cleaner the air release will be when you turn it off. Hence, vacuum cleaners equipped with High-efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters can remove 99.97% of particles of 0.3 mm.

So, look for a vacuum cleaner with washable and multistep HEPA filters for cleaner and breathable air around your house.

Level of noise

The best vacuums are the ones you don’t hear. Anything louder than 75 dB should be replaced with a quieter alternative. The noise level below 60 dB of a vacuum cleaner is perfect for when others are sleeping — most of these vacuums have noise levels between 65 and 75 dB.

Reducing the suction strength often minimizes the noise level, too. Most advanced vacuum cleaners have different levels from low to high modes, with varying noise levels. Since I have babies and elderlies at my place, keeping the noise levels down is always a priority. The Xiaomi Mi G10 helped me immensely in this scenario. Cleaning the entire house was pretty comfortable without waking my baby up!

Cleaning distance and tools

With cordless vacuums, the power is limitless. They don’t depend on the main power and can clean any area in the home because they can recharge their batteries. The runtime of a cordless vacuum is between 30-60 minutes, enough to clean large areas without needing to charge.

How do you clean up the dirt and grime from a wide range of surfaces? You need the right tools for the job. These include the Crevice Tool, Dusting Brush, Motorized Pet Tool, and Upholstery Tool. They come with many vacuum cleaners, but you can buy them separately.

Xiaomi Mi Vacuum Cleaner G10 brings everything its rival brands offer and improves them. Its HD TFT display has excellent visibility and instrumental indications while in use. The vacuum automatically adjusts the power and rotations of the brush according to surfaces and dirt. You can rely on this device to provide the right energy and processes for any cleaning need.

We sincerely believe that the points mentioned above would help you make an informed decision while buying a vacuum cleaner. Handheld and cordless electronics are the future of consumer electronics, making it convenient to keep our dearest surroundings – our homes – clean, hygienic, and fresh.

  1. Can I clean Xiaomi G10 vacuum cleaner parts?

Except for the motor and electric brush, you can use clean water without any detergent to clean each part of G10 from the mop, filters, water tank to dust compartments.

  1. How do I know if it is fully charged?

The battery level indicator goes off when it reaches full charge. If you plug in when it’s full, the indicator breathes for 20 seconds before going off.

  1. Can Xiaomi vacuum work without Wi-Fi?

The two buttons for turning on and cleaning need Wi-Fi for setting up, updating the firmware, and fan speed. After that, you can use it without an Internet connection.

  1. How can I connect Xiaomi vacuum cleaner with my phone?

Press Scan in the Mi Home app and press the two buttons under the cleaner’s lid together until the Wi-Fi indicator starts blinking. The device will appear in the menu list before assigning Wi-Fi SSID and password to pair the device.

  1. How long can my G10 vacuum cleaner last?

G10 gives you a runtime between 30-45 minutes on a single round of battery charge. The life of G10 can last up to 2-3 years, depending on the level of care.

How to Check Xiaomi Warranty and Serial Number in 2023 https://bestchineseproducts.com/how-to-check-xiaomi-warranty-and-serial-number/ Sun, 23 Jul 2023 11:03:19 +0000 https://bestchineseproducts.com/?p=15105 If you’re planning to buy a new Xiaomi smartphone from your friend or an unauthorized dealer then it’s important that you check the IMEI number and the warranty of the device so you know you’re getting a good deal. Many sellers try passing off a second-hand/refurbished device as brand new and hundreds of unsuspecting customers get fooled in the process.

This guide – How to check Xiaomi warranty and serial number will help you learn how to check if your device is authentic, new and if it has an active warranty plan.

So how do you check the warranty and serial number of Xiaomi Smartphones?

When it comes to brands like Xiaomi, it’s rather easy to check the warranty and serial number of their devices. You will be able to find the IMEI or the serial number on the packaging or within the Settings app on the device. This serial number can then be keyed into Xiaomi’s official repository to check the authenticity of the device and the details of the warranty.

Over the course of this guide, I will show you how you can find the serial number of the Xiaomi smartphone, how you can check if the warranty is activated or not and I will also highlight a few importances of having a valid serial number and warranty.

Let’s Begin!

Xiaomi Scooter Serial Number Check

Check the serial number or the 20 digit security code from the product and enter it on the Xiaomi Product authentication page and you’ll be able to find out if it’s legitimate or not. You can click on the link here to check your product authentication on the Xiaomi Website.

Xiaomi Product Authentication Check

What is a Xiaomi Product Serial Number?

Xiaomi, like other brands, have unique barcodes for their smartphones. This barcode consists of 15 digits and no two barcodes will be the same, so you can think of it as a unique identification number assigned to a particular device.

When scanned, this IMEI code or serial number will display the make and model, origin and other important information pertaining to that particular device. These serial numbers or IMEI numbers will help you determine whether the device is authentic or fake and can also help you trace the device if you happen to lose it.

How to Check Xiaomi Warranty and Serial Number

How to Find the Serial Number on a Xiaomi Smartphone?

Xiaomi has made it easy for users to find the IMEI or the serial number of their device. There are four primary ways you can find the serial number of your smartphone. Let’s go through them one at a time.

On the Box

One of the easiest ways to find the serial number of any Xiaomi smartphone is by checking the sticker at the back of the box. This sticker will inform you about the primary specifications of the device such as RAM, processor and storage capacity.

Along with this information you will also find the serial number, barcode and the QR code that takes you to the Xiaomi website homepage.

IMEI details Xiaomi

The total number of IMEI codes or serial numbers found on the sticker is directly proportional to the number of SIM card slots the device has. For example, you will have one IMEI number for single SIM devices and two for dual SIM devices.

Apart from the IMEI and barcode, you will also have an MEID number (mobile equipment identifier) located at the bottom of the sticker as shown in the image above.

Stickers in the Box / At the Back of the Phone

One good thing about Xiaomi smartphones is that they include a sheet of stickers within the box that has the IMEI, SAR values (specific absorption rate for cellular radiation) and MEID numbers printed on them. At times you will also be able to find the same sticker placed on the back of the device itself.

how to check xiaomi warranty with IMEI

You can remove the sticker from the phone and it will not hamper the warranty of the device. The reason why Xiaomi includes multiple stickers is so that you have easy access to the serial codes and other crucial information about the device.

From within the Settings App on the Phone

If you don’t have access to the box or the stickers provided within the box, you can always access the settings app on the phone and check the IMEI information along with the other relevant information like the IP address, Wi-Fi MAC address, Bluetooth address and the device’s serial number.

Here’s how you can access the serial numbers on any Xiaomi smartphone.

  • Start by unlocking your device and navigating to the “Settings App”
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and then tap on the option labeled “About Phone
  • Tap on “Status” from the list of options on the new page and then click on “IMEI information”.
How to check IMEI serial number

Here you will be able to view the devices IMEI and IMEI SV codes. Depending on the number of SIM card slots the device is equipped with, the total number of IMEI/serial numbers would vary.

Check the IMEI number via the Dial Pad

The final option you have is pretty much a hack that not many people are aware of. When it comes to smartphones that run on Android OS, you will be able to find the IMEI and MEID of the device by keying in a unique code in the dial pad.

Xiaomi warranty period check

To do this, simply open the dial pad on your Xiaomi smartphone and key in “*#06#” and then hit the dial button.

You will receive a pop-up on the screen that displays the devices Mobile Equipment Identification details like the MEID, IMEI 1 for the first SIM card slot and IMEI 2 for the second SIM card slot.

Once you’ve noted the device serial number you can tap on “OK” at the bottom of the pop-up to close it.

How to Check the Warranty of your Xiaomi Smartphone?

In total there are three ways you can check the warranty status of your Xiaomi smartphone. The first method is the easiest but not the most reliable whereas the second and third methods are what I recommend following.

#1 – Check your Bill

When you purchase the Xiaomi smartphone for the first time, the seller will include the warranty details on the bill. You can use the warranty date mentioned on the bill in case you have doubts pertaining to the warranty details and validity .

#2 – Check on the Xiaomi Mall App

The Xiaomi Mall App is an app found on all Xiaomi smartphones. You can purchase themes, check your Xiaomi account and even have service related tickets opened. With the Mall App you can also check the warranty information by entering the IMEI or the serial number.

Here’s how you can use the Mall App to check your warranty details.

  • Start by launching the Xiaomi Mall App on your device.
  • Click on your Profile and then tap on My Account / Account Details
  • Scroll and then tap on Service Center
  • Enter the IMEI number in the search field and hit enter
  • Click on After Sales Service to check if the device still has a valid warranty or if it has lapsed.

#3 – Check on the Product Authentication Portal

Finally, you can also check the warranty information of any particular Xiaomi device on Xiaomi’s own Product Authentication Portal. Here you will be asked if you’d like to verify your device or to check if it’s authentic.

  • Verify your Phone Purchase – This tab will request you to enter your IMEI or serial number along with a verification CAPTCHA in the empty fields and once you tap on Verify you will be able to view the warranty details and purchase details of the device.
  • Xiaomi Product Authentication – The product authentication tab is where you can check the legitimacy of the device and whether it’s an original Xiaomi smartphone or a replica. Instead of entering the IMEI or the serial number, you will be asked to key in the security code found on the device.
This is an authentication label with a holographic Mi logo. Once you scratch off the filament, you will have a 20-digit security code that proves the device is original.

Why is it Important to Have a Valid Serial Number and Warranty?

There will come a time when you would need the serial number of your Xiaomi smartphone, like in case you lose the device or if you need to check the warranty details. Here are some of the main reasons why it’s important to know what your serial number is and how you can use it to safeguard your personal information.

  • Lock the device if it’s stolen or lost – You can lock a device and even disable its functionality with the help of the IMEI/serial numbers. Network providers will be able to block connections to that device if you hand over the IMEI number to them. You can also reach out to the police to have the cell phone blocked.
  • Helps identify the make and model of the device – As I said earlier, every IMEI and serial number out there is unique and no two numbers are the same. This is done as a way to distinguish different phones and brands of phones from the others in the market. The same serial numbers can also help you learn if your device is brand new or if it’s a second-hand one. Normally the first 8 digits of the serial number will mark the make and model of the smartphone whereas, the remaining 6 digits will identify the manufacturer and brand.
  • Track a lost Xiaomi smartphone – Another reason why IMEI numbers are important is that they help you track your smartphone if it’s lost. When you hand over the IMEI/serial number to the police or your service provider, they will be able to trace the precise location of your device and there’s a high possibility that you would be able to retrieve your lost smartphone.
  • Check the warranty status – One of the most convenient ways to check the warranty status of your Xiaomi smartphone is by using the IMEI number. The IMEI and serial number will show you the activation date and even validity period of the warranty on the device.

FAQ’s

What is the validity for the warranty on Xiaomi smartphones?

By default standards, the warranty period on Xiaomi smartphones lasts for up to 2 years from the date of the purchase. The warranty is in place so that if you face any issues with the device in two years, such as manufacturing defects then you can have the device replaced.

How can I claim warranty on my Xiaomi smartphone?

You can claim the warranty on your device if it meets certain criteria. In order to get the device checked, you will have to reach out to the Xiaomi service team via this Link. You will be presented with a warranty service order, post which you will be asked to take the device along with the original box and bill to a designated Xiaomi center for a thorough inspection before you can claim warranty.

It’s an essential piece of equipment to own if you want to monitor your body metrics from the safety of your home.

For an affordable scale, the body composition scale 2 looks good, is equipped with over 13 different measurement sensors and has been known to deliver some pretty precise results. But how does the scale work and how can you use it?

We’re going to take you through how Xiaomi scale works and how it’s designed to track your body metrics. This article will cover everything from the performance and functions to the main features and whether it is reliable and accurate.

Check out the Xiaomi scale here

Read on to find out more about how the Xiaomi scale 2 works

How to Calibrate Xiaomi Scale?

The calibration process may differ slightly depending on the model you have. Below are general steps that may help you calibrate a Xiaomi scale. Please note that newer models or firmware updates may have introduced changes.

Place the scale on a hard, flat surface: Find a stable and level surface to set up the scale. Avoid placing it on carpets or uneven surfaces, as this can affect accuracy.

Install the Xiaomi Mi Fit app: If you haven’t already, download and install the Xiaomi Mi Fit app on your smartphone. The app is available on both Android and iOS platforms.

Pair the scale with the Mi Fit app: Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone and open the Mi Fit app. Follow the app’s instructions to pair the scale with your phone.

Select the correct user profile: If you’re using the scale with multiple people, make sure you select the correct user profile in the Mi Fit app before weighing yourself. This is important for tracking individual progress accurately.

Step on the scale: Place your bare feet on the metal electrodes of the scale. Ensure that your feet are dry and make good contact with the electrodes for a stable reading.

Wait for the reading: The scale should display your weight on the screen. In some models, the scale may also measure other data such as body fat percentage, BMI, and more.

Calibration: Xiaomi scales are designed to be self-calibrating, meaning they should automatically calibrate themselves after a few uses. However, to ensure accuracy, you can follow these additional steps: a. Weigh yourself regularly: Consistent use helps the scale to adjust and improve accuracy over time.
b. Keep the scale clean: Regularly clean the scale’s surface and metal electrodes to avoid any build-up that may affect readings.
c. Avoid moving the scale frequently: If possible, try to keep the scale in one place to minimize potential inconsistencies.

Check for firmware updates: Occasionally, Xiaomi releases firmware updates for their smart scales. Check the Mi Fit app or Xiaomi’s official website for any available updates and follow the instructions to update your scale if necessary.

Remember that smart scales are not meant for medical purposes, and the measurements they provide should be taken as general indicators rather than precise medical data. For any specific concerns or medical-related questions, it’s always best to consult with a healthcare professional.

The Xiaomi body composition scale 2 depends on bioelectrical impedance technology to track various body metrics such as your body fat levels, bone density, muscle mass and more.

By turning your body into a conductor, the scale sends a low power electrical signal up one leg that completes a full cycle around your body and  discharges back into the scale through the other leg.

The built-in AI then decodes the signals and converts it into readable data that will be displayed on your smartphone via the Mi Fit app.

Setting Up the Xiaomi Scale 2

There is no high-tech programming involved in setting up the Xiaomi scale 2, simply slap on the AAA batteries that come in the package and you’re good to go. You will not be able to see anything on the scale at first and that’s because the screen is hidden and only lights up when you stand on the scale with both feet.

Xiaomi scale features

However, if you’re planning on tracking and monitoring your biometrics on a daily basis then I will suggest pairing the scale 2 with your smartphone via the Mi Fit app.

The scale 2 will only display your body weight on the screen and won’t showcase the other metrics that it measures.

Pairing the Xiaomi Scale 2 with the Mi Fit App

The Mi Fit app is a health tracker app that’s available on the Android and iOS stores. Typically used with smartwatches like the Amazfit Bip and the Mi band, the Mi Fit app can also be paired with your Xiaomi scale to measure and track key metrics about your health and fitness.

Here’s how you can pair your Xiaomi scale 2 with the Mi Fit app.

  • Login to the Mi Fit app using your credentials. If you do not have an account, you can click on Sign Up and create an account.
  • Once you’re all set, navigate to the tab labeled Profile.
  • Click on Devices and then tap on Add Device.
  • Click on Scale from the list of devices.
  • You will receive a notification requesting permission to track data, click on Accept.
  • Turn on your Bluetooth and enable Device Pairing.
  • Turn on the Location of your smartphone.
  • Stand on the Xiaomi scale 2 to activate it and begin the pairing process.

Remember to double check if the profile information stored on your app is accurate such as the gender, DOB and height.

Build and Design of the Xiaomi Scale 2

The body composition scale 2 looks and feels quite like any other digital bathroom weighing scale, but its build is slightly different from the rest. The scale features a nice rounded edge design and a tempered glass casing that houses the four metal plates, hidden display and the bioelectrical impedance processor.

The metal plates are electrodes that have been designed to transmit and receive electrical signals and it is these plates that give the scale 2 a nice futuristic look. The scale 2 is made out of polycarbonate material and can hold up to 250lbs at a time.

how to use the xiaomi scale

It’s also equipped with anti-slip rubber feet that prevent the scale from sliding out from underneath. While we loved the design and build quality of the scale 2, the one thing that was a real pain was that it gets dirty quickly and requires a wipe-down every now and then.

How Body Composition Analysis Works?

The main highlight of the Xiaomi scale 2 is its ability to track way more than just your body weight. This machine is designed to give you a detailed report of your body composition and it’s able to do so thanks to the BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) processor that’s built into it.

The Scale works by sending a mild, low-charge electrical signal through your body via your feet and then calculates the key composition metrics based on how long the current takes to flow throughout the body. It’s rather easy to use and will provide you with your body weight in under 10 seconds and the rest of your body metrics within 30 seconds from standing on it.

While it does a decent job of collecting data and syncing with the Mi Fit app, the Xiaomi scale 2 could do with a small improvement of having our body metrics displayed on the scale itself.

The BIA chip in the body composition scale 2 can measure 13 different metrics that you can track individually on your smartphone. They are:

  • Body Weight
  • Muscle Mass
  • Body Fat Percentage
  • Body Score
  • BMI
  • Visceral Fat Percentage
  • Bone Mass
  • Physical Age of the Body
  • Protein Levels
  • Balance Test
  • Ideal Weight
  • Basal Metabolism
  • Amount of Water in the Body

Note: Since the scale relies on electrical current, it’s best to stand on it and measure your body metrics with dry feet and when your body is well hydrated.

Track your Health Data with the Mi Fit App

If you’ve used the Mi Fit app earlier then you will be familiar with its layout and how to navigate to particular sections of the app. If not then you should know that the app is really easy to use and quite informative. As I mentioned earlier, the only way to track your body metrics is by syncing the scale with your phone.

The home page will display your body weight along with a graph to track your gain or loss over a certain period of time. Right below that is the Body score tab that displays the key metrics such as body fat levels, muscle weight, water percentage and more. Once you tap on this tab, you will be able to select any of the key points and pull up a detailed report for each one.

tips on how to use the Xiaomi scale

Under the body score tab you will find the Balance tap that measures your body balance. Here you will find information regarding your balance and if it is low and whether you need to make any improvements.

The only way to receive accurate results on your body measurement report is by entering correct information such as your height, age and gender in the profile section of the app. New data gets synced every time you stand on the scale for a measurement and your smartphone is near.

how does the xiaomi scale work

You do not have to worry about anything and if your app happens to show you old data, simply pull down the page to refresh the app and it should sync with the scale and collect the new measurements.

Troubleshooting the Xiaomi Scale 2

As with all electronic devices, the Xiaomi scale 2 is bound to fail at some point or the other. It could be simple human error or an actual problem with the device itself. Here are some of the ways you can troubleshoot the scale. If all these steps fail, then it’s time to approach Xiaomi and claim your warranty.

  • If you’re unable to pair the app with the scale, check your Bluetooth settings and see whether Bluetooth is turned on or off.
  • Restart your app and smartphone.
  • Check the battery levels of the scale. If the battery is low you may not be able to get clear information and the device will not pair with your phone.
  • If you have paired another device in the past and it’s in close proximity to the scale, turn off Bluetooth on that device and try pairing again.
  • Other factors that can cause inaccurate readings are: a high temperature fever, if you have recently exercised, if the surface is uneven or if you have just stepped out of the sauna and your body temperature is higher than usual.

Is the Xiaomi Scale 2 Worth It?

Considering it’s one of the few digital scales in the market that’s equipped with a sensitive and accurate BIA processor, the Scale 2 is worth spending your money on. It’s quite affordable too at under $25 and as an added bonus, you can use the scale 2 to record key health metrics for up to 16 people including children.

FAQ’s

Is the Xiaomi scale 2 accurate?

Yes, the Xiaomi scale 2 is very accurate in terms of measuring your weight, body fat levels, body mass, BMI and muscle mass. However, we did not find the body water rating to be quite as accurate as the rest.

How to calibrate the Xiaomi scale 2?

You don’t have to do much, simply stand on the scale a bunch of times and it will automatically calibrate itself. Normally, the first couple of readings would be inaccurate and post the third or fourth measurement you will start seeing correct real-time figures.

How do you install the batteries in the Xiaomi scale 2?

Installing the AAA batteries into the Xiaomi scale 2 is an easy process. Simply flip the scale upside down and carefully open the battery compartment. Take the batteries out of their packaging and place them in series as shown in the diagram on the inside of the compartment.

How can I set weight goals for my Xiaomi scale?

To set weight goals, you will need to login to the Xiaomi Mi Fit app. Here you will have to click on “My Device” tap on the scale and then click on “Weight Goals”. Tap on Okay to save the new goal.

What can I use to clean the Xiaomi scale?

Since the shell of the scale 2 is made of a polycarbonate glass, you can use a wet/damp cloth along with a mild detergent to clean the surface. Do not use a rough or dirty cloth or any other chemicals to clean it as they can damage the scale.

How long do the batteries last in the Xiaomi scale 2?

Given that they’re AAA batteries, they don’t last really long. The true longevity of the batteries depends on the number of times a day and how frequently you check your weight. Generally, for 3-4 uses a day, the batteries will last for up to 8 months at a time.

 Xiaomi 11 Ultra

The Xiaomi 11 Ultra is an uber cool smartphone with one of the best rated cameras out there. It’s a 50MP marvel that can record 8K footage at 24 frames per second and 4K at 60 frames. The 11 Ultra comes with a dual-pixel system built onto the sensor that permits clear and detailed night photographs and it also comes with a color temperature sensor that can optimize color rendering and the white balance of your shots.

During the day, your photos are filled with colors and have minimal noise and sharpening which is good, though we would love to see this level of detail in night mode shots. The 11 Ultra comes with 3 zoom modes; Digital, Hybrid and Optical, however the quality of the photos at maximum digital zoom are not great and Xiaomi could have done better.

Camera Specifications

  • Primary camera – 50MP 1/1.12” Quad-Bayer sensor
  • Ultra wide – 48MP ½-inch sensor
  • Telephoto lens – 48MP ½-inch sensor

The X3 Pro does not come with image stabilization which is sad, however, it does a decent job of producing some pretty clear and blur free images. While the Xiaomi X3 Pro does an impressive job in the day, the night mode is not great and would produce images and videos with reduced clarity and sharpness.

Camera Specifications

  • Primary camera – 48MP 1 / 2.0” Sony IMX 582 sensor
  • Ultra wide – 48MP 119-degree sensor

Xiaomi Mi 11

The Mi 11 features a triple rear camera set up that includes a massive 108MP primary lens which supports optical image stabilization and PDAF focus. The secondary cameras at the back include a 13MP ultra wide lens and a 5MP macro lens which do a reasonably good job in low lit environments. While using the Mi 11, you will notice that the quality of the photos and videos taken during the day are free from background noise, have the right levels of saturation and detail. It comes equipped with both optical and digital zoom which you can enable depending on the camera mode you select.

The night mode on the Mi 11 is probably one of the best we’ve seen till date. Night mode will automatically switch on regardless of the lens you use and if you happen to use the primary 108MP lens for night photographs, then you will not be disappointed. The lens here is equipped with a large and powerful sensor that captures enough surrounding light, thus making your night photos look clear and detailed with the right levels of brightness.

You can also record videos in 8K at 30fps or 4K at 60fps which is fabulous and as a plus point, Xiaomi has added updated video modes, movie effects and even a magic zoom to make your whole experience a little more interesting.

The Poco X3 NFC is a budget friendly Xiaomi smartphone with an amazing 64MP camera setup. The quad array includes a 13MP ultra wide lens and two 2MP lenses; one for macro shots and one for depth focus. You also get dual LED flash which helps enhance night shots and HDR processing capabilities for detailed and dynamic images..

The front facing selfie camera is a single 20MP wide lens that supports HDR and can record in 1080p at 30 frames. It’s a great contender and we found that the 20MP selfie camera does a better job of capturing detailed images than other devices in the same price range. With the primary camera, you are able to shoot 4K videos at 30 frames and 1080 HD videos at 60 frames per second. Considering this is a budget friendly smartphone, it does not come with OIS, but rather uses an electronic image stabilization technique to shoot blur-free and stable videos.

Best Xiaomi Themes for MIUI 2023 (MIUI 14 Themes – Updated Monthly) https://bestchineseproducts.com/best-xiaomi-themes-for-miui/ Sun, 18 Jun 2023 12:27:05 +0000 https://bestchineseproducts.com/?p=14835 It doesn’t matter if you love or loathe Xiaomi’s MIUI skin for Android. Using Xiaomi Themes, you may completely change the look and feel of your Xiaomi smartphone. It is possible to modify your smartphone’s theme, download many ringtones, and even alter the font used to display the UI. Multiple tabs contain all of the content in Xiaomi Themes. Change the theme of your smartphone by selecting the first choice from the drop-down menu. Several alternatives are available.

The remaining sections allow you to customize the interface down to the background, ringtones, and font style. The tabs are arranged in a logical manner. Although the most popular material will always appear first by default, you can always use the search box to narrow your results. It’s worth noting, however, that Xiaomi Themes are exclusively compatible with Xiaomi devices. If you can’t find the app after installing it, try changing your phone’s region. It’s in the ‘options’ section of the menu.

Best MIUI Themes

iOS 14:

This theme emulates the look and feel of Apple’s iOS 14 operating system, bringing iOS-style icons, wallpapers, and overall aesthetics to your Xiaomi device.

Android Pie:

Inspired by Google’s Android Pie, this theme offers a clean and minimalist design with rounded icons, vibrant colors, and fluid animations.

White Room

White room is a super clean interface with a dash of absolute goodness. At the outset it’s a beautiful looking and clean theme. When you go to the control center, the magic opens with a black screen with a red border. Very cool looking!

MIUI 14 Carbon:

A sleek and modern theme featuring dark backgrounds, sharp icons, and stylish typography. It gives your Xiaomi device a premium and sophisticated look.

MIUI 14 Super Wallpaper:

This theme brings the iconic “Super Wallpapers” from MIUI 14, featuring stunning visuals of Earth and Mars as your device’s wallpaper.

Ocean Breeze:

With soothing blue tones and fluid animations, this theme provides a refreshing and calming visual experience, ideal for those who prefer a serene ambiance.

Colorful Nebula:

This theme showcases vibrant and cosmic colors with a futuristic design, reminiscent of an interstellar nebula. It offers unique icons and wallpapers to liven up your Xiaomi device.

Material Design:

Inspired by Google’s Material Design language, this theme offers a clean and colorful interface with bold typography and intuitive icons.

Black Shark:

Nature’s Harmony:

This theme brings nature-inspired elements to your Xiaomi device, with beautiful landscapes, gentle colors, and organic icon designs for a peaceful and harmonious experience.

Pixel Experience Dark

pixel experience dark theme xiaomi

I think Pixel Experience Dark Pixel Experience is one of the best Xiaomi themes available. For two reasons, I think the theme is excellent. First, it’s created to match the Pixel’s look and feel. Second, it features a dark mode option.

Aside from that, the theme has no negative impact on device performance. A Google Material Design-inspired icon shape also gives MIUI a very stock-like appearance. Other choices include a “Text Lock Screen Clock” for Pixel smartphones and various customizations.

xiaomi theme pixel

PixPie Dark

Changing your MIUI device to look like a stock Android handset is easy with PixPie Dark, another powerful theme. There are a lot of similarities between OxygenOS and Google’s Pixel operating system in this theme, and that’s not all. As a result, I’m enamored with the combination of two well-known stock Android skins. For example, unlike other themes that merely alter your wallpaper and icon, this will modify your lock screen, the system features like status bar notifications and quick settings panel icons and wallpaper.

Pixel Q Light

pixel Q xiaomi theme

Pixel Q Light theme for MIUI is an excellent option if you prefer to use your phone in a more ambient light setting. It includes the Google Wallpaper, Material Design icons, a tidy and distinct fast settings page, and more. Google’s trademark light and lively colour scheme have been implemented for the Basic Settings page and keyboard. Because this theme is so light and does not slow down your phone in any way, it’s my favorite.

V2 of Android Go.

V2 of android Go Xiaomi theme

Reminiscent of Android Go OS, a simplified version of Stock Android. Also, from Xiaomi, the Redmi Go, a handset running Android Go OS, is available for purchase. To get that minimalistic look on your MIUI-based device, Android Go v2 is a great theme to install. It streamlines the user interface by placing just the most essential apps on the home screen and reducing the size of the fast settings panel. In addition, its 2.3MB memory footprint reduces overall RAM consumption, resulting in improved performance.

Pineapple

pineapple xiaomi theme

Even though Android P is called Pie and not Pineapple, this is a fantastic theme. In reality, it’s one of the most minimalistic and resembles Android 9 Pie in terms of style. The theme features a minimalistic dock and Android Pie-style quick settings toggles. Contrary to this, as the theme does not support 18:9 ratios, the lock screen appears slightly distorted on the device.

The Android OS version P.

Android P xiaomi theme

Since Android 10 is now available, you can’t be blamed for finding a theme that mimics the new design of the operating system. It’s easy to see that Android P is based on Android Pie because the white and blue colour scheme is consistent throughout. The fast settings icons are so nicely crafted that anyone might easily confuse your cell phone for one running Android 9 Pie. To get the Android P appearance on your device, this is the theme for you if you’re a fan of the white colour scheme.

Android One

One of Google’s most minimal Android skins, Android One, is perfect for this theme. The Android One theme features circular icons, folder icons, a Pixel Widget, and many more features like the Android One theme. The status bar icons also have a striking resemblance to the AOSP ones. Aside from the fact that it doesn’t have many extra features, I like this theme because it doesn’t look cluttered or overly complicated.

Oxygen 999

I love Stock AOSP, but there are aspects of OxygenOS that I appreciate as well, particularly the way it combines Stock AOSP with its UI features. The Oxygen 999 theme is perfect for others who feel the same way. The theme lets you enjoy the standard Android Nougat home-screen, lock-screen, and in-call experience on your device. Despite the lack of extra customization options, most users will be content with the appearance and feel of OxygenOS, which is the same.

AOSP Extended

Even though it is one of my favorite ROMs, I’m not pushing you to install the AOSP Extended custom ROM. But the AOSP Extended theme tries to give you the same “extended” look on your MIUI device as the official AOSP theme does. The AOSP Extended theme features round icons and a dark gray/black color scheme over the whole theme area. My favorite feature of this theme, which has a transparent backdrop, is the ease of use of its quick settings.

Instructions For Using Xiaomi’s Themes On Your Phone

Since its launch, Xiaomi has been a pioneer in developing themes for smartphones, launching its MIUI theme store before this was a popular feature.

Themes might be confusing at times. We’ll show you where to find Xiaomi themes and how to install them.

The first step is to open an account.

To download themes, you’ll need a Mi account, even if you may browse the store without one. To create an account, go to account.xiaomi.com or use your Facebook credentials to sign up for an account. By way of your phone’s settings, you can also join up (settings > Mi account). If you wish to use themes, you’ll need a Mi account.

Theme selection is the second step.

You may search for and download MIUI themes after you’ve set up your Mi account. To access the store, open the themes app.

There is a scrolling list of categories at the top of the home screen for easy access to all available themes. Other permanent categories include the most popular topics and new submissions.

Go down a few levels and you’ll see a variety of categories ranging from daily recommendations to boys and girl’s themes to the top 100 of the previous months to various other options.

Downloading and organising your Xiaomi themes is the third step.

Have you come across a subject matter that interests you? A green download button will appear at the bottom of the screen when you tap on it. When the download bar has filled, release the button.

Upon completion of the download, the download button will change to an application button. The freshly downloaded theme will be applied to your phone if you tap on it. Now that you’ve got a new theme, you’re ready to go.

Two alternatives are available for those who have downloaded multiple themes and want to see them all in one place. Alternatively, you can go to themes and tap the smiley face icon (the third one on top of your screen). The number of downloaded themes should appear next to the themes button from this point on.

Visit Settings > Themes (it should be in the “personal” section) to see all of your downloaded themes. My themes will appear at the top of the screen and a few recommended selections underneath.

A previously downloaded (or pre-installed) theme can be applied by selecting it from the Themes menu, then tapping the apply button.

Xiaomi allows you to mix and match elements from several themes to achieve the look and feel you like on your Android device. This is one of the most excellent components of Android customisation. Icon packs, lock style, dial pad, status bar, and more can be replaced using Xiaomi’s inbuilt theme customizer.

  1. Are Xiaomi themes safe to use on my phone?

Installing themes from the official store is generally safe because you can easily go back to the default theme.

  1. Do Xiaomi themes slow down your phone?

Themes dont affect the speed of the phone in the latest MIUI versions

Dreame vs Xiaomi | Is the Xiaomi Handheld Vacuum cleaner better than the Dreame V11? https://bestchineseproducts.com/dreame-vs-xiaomi/ Sun, 12 Feb 2023 07:35:00 +0000 https://bestchineseproducts.com/?p=14040 Looking for the best Handheld vacuum cleaner in the market? Check out our Dreame vs Xiaomi guide to find out the best of the best!

The latest cordless handheld vacuum cleaners have dominated the market due to its wireless build and lightweight build. Additionally, they offer a ton of features that are convenient and they happen to be quite affordable.

For example, consumer electronics giant Xiaomi has come up with amazing handheld vacuum cleaners that are much more affordable than Dyson. Overtime Xiaomi has even come up with a home appliances sub-brand – Dreame to dominate the vacuum cleaner market.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that the Dreame line of vacuum cleaners are dominating the market. Xiaomi’s Handheld Vacuum Cleaner still seems to be the popular option. However, how does it fare against the latest Dreame V11? Check out our Dreame vs Xiaomi comparison guide for all the details.

After having reviewed both the Dreame V11 and the Xiaomi handheld vacuum cleaner based on various factors like design, features, performance, battery life, attachments and much more; my team and I compared both and found that:

When it comes to Dreame vs Xiaomi. The clear winner is the Dreame V11. Not only is it much better than the Xiaomi Handheld Vacuum cleaner in terms of design and build but it also offers much better features. It also stands out in terms of battery life. However, it does fall short when it comes to price as it’s $100 more than the Xiaomi.

Check out the Xiaomi Handheld Brush here!

Check out the Dreame V11 here!

Dreame Vs Xiaomi

For my full review, go to the sections below!

Xiaomi G11 vs the Dreame V11

When it comes to overall performance, the Xiaomi G11 is hard to beat. This vacuum is equipped with many impressive features such as a robust motor that provides strong suction power, powerful navigation algorithms which help it navigate through tight spaces, multiple sensors and brushes which help avoid obstacles, and its ultra-silent operation. The Xiaomi G11 is truly a powerhouse when it comes to cleaning.

On the other hand, the Dreame V11 is also a great option. It has similar features to the Xiaomi G11 such as powerful suction, smart navigation, multiple sensors that detect and avoid obstacles, and ultra-silent operation. However, the Dreame V11 also has some additional features that set it apart from other vacuums. It has an advanced HEPA filtration technology which captures dust and allergens and a “Vortex Cyclone” technology that prevents dust particles from escaping into the air.

When it comes to battery life, the Dreame V11 has a slightly longer battery life than the Xiaomi G11, lasting up to 200 minutes on a full charge. The Xiaomi G11 still has an impressive battery life of up to 170 minutes. Both of them also have fast-charging capabilities, allowing them to recharge to full power in no time.

In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi G11 is a bit cheaper than the Dreame V11, however both of these vacuums offer excellent value for money.

Xiaomi G10 vs Dreame V11

The Xiaomi G10 is a cordless vacuum cleaner with a wide range of features designed to make cleaning easier. It features SmartControl Technology to allow you to easily switch between power levels and helps to reduce noise pollution. The G10 is ideal for cleaning carpets, hard floors, and upholstery and can even tackle more stubborn messes with its high suction power of up to 150 AW. It has a large dustbin capacity of 600 ml, so that you don’t have to worry about emptying it frequently. Additionally, the G10 is equipped with a high-efficiency filter that captures up to 99.5% of the dust, dirt and allergens in your home.

The Dreame V11 has some unique features that make it stand out among other vacuum cleaners. It has a powerful motor with up to 20,000 Pa of suction power, which is 3 times higher than the Xiaomi G10, as well as a long battery life of up to 160 minutes. The V11 also comes with a convenient self-cleaning system, which means that it will automatically empty its dustbin when it is full, so you don’t have to worry about regularly emptying it. Furthermore, the V11 features Edge Cleaning Technology, which allows it to easily pick up dirt and dust from corners and edges so that your surfaces are totally clean.

In terms of design, both the G10 and the V11 offer something different. The G10 has a sleek design and is lightweight and easy to carry with its four-wheel design. On the other hand, the V11 has a more robust design and is larger and heavier than the G10, which may be a downside for those who need something smaller and more compact.

Overall, both the Xiaomi G10 and the Dreame V11 are capable vacuum cleaners that offer a range of features to help make cleaning easier. If you’re looking for something lightweight and compact, that has good suction power and a long battery life, then the Xiaomi G10 may be the better option for you. On the other hand, if you need something more powerful, with a unique self-cleaning system, then the Dreame V11 may be the right choice.

Since both vacuums are from Xiaomi’s ecosystem, they come with a similar quality cardboard box packaging. Since, the packaging is going to be slightly weak in terms of integrity, we recommend you purchase from a recommended seller. Please refer to the link below. Additionally, it is better to invest in a warranty and choose the closest fulfillment center as it decreases the possibility of any damage to the device during the transit.

Inside the box, you will find the main portion of the vacuum cleaner with the handle, motor and the display. Additionally, you will find the charger and multiple attachments. Of course, you will also have an instruction manual to guide you through the set up. Both vacuum cleaners contain the same number of components.

Design and Build

When it comes to the design things get a little interesting. Check out our Dreame vs Xiaomi guide to find out the best of the best!

The Xiaomi Handheld Vacuum Cleaner being the OG has an extremely minimalistic design. It comes in a white color and comes with a main portion that consists of a handle with a trigger, a motor, dust compartment and a metal rod which then connects to the various attachments.

Unlike the older Xiaomi Vacuum cleaner, the latest Dreame is much more modern in terms of not only design but also build. It comes with an extremely useful OLED display and a lock to fix the trigger in place. So, you can vacuum without the stress of holding the trigger down.

Most importantly, you can control and keep a track of the various modes with the display. The Dreame V11, however, comes in a Red-Grey color which might not blend well with white walls.

As for the build, the Xiaomi is quite light, weighing in at about 3 lbs. The Dreame is slightly heavier at 3.6lbs. It’s honestly quite negligible as the extra weight does affect speed or maneuverability.

While the Xiaomi is lighter in weight, it doesn’t offer the same level of build quality as the Dreame V11. The Dreame comes with a stronger plastic that can take a hit or two without breaking down. Of course, this means that it offers a much longer lifespan as well. Overall, the Dreame V11 definitely wins the Design and build round.

Features

Despite being relatively older, the Xiaomi Handheld Vacuum Cleaner does come with its fair share of useful features. For example, it is equipped with a 5-stage filtration system that can catch particles as small as 0.3 microns. It can even purify air to a certain extent.

However, the Dreame V11 is on a whole new level. To start off with, it is equipped with an OLED display that shows you the modes and settings. The Xiaomi, on the other hand, not only lacks the convenient display but it also doesn’t have the Dreame’s three suction modes.

Even when it comes to the filtration, the Dreame V11 is equipped with a highly effective HEPA filter that can catch almost 99.7% of all particulate matter. Of course, it also purifies the air to some extent. What really sets it apart is that this filter kills mites and  allergens.

The filter also happens to be washable. So, you can use it for a longtime without any issues. All in all, the Dreame is clearly the better option when it comes to features.

Performance

When it comes to the performance the Xiaomi Handheld has a high suction power of 120 AW and a powerful motor of 10W rpm. However, the Dreame V11 leaves it in the dust with it’s 150 AW suction force and 125,000 rpm motor.

While it seems negligible, the difference in suction force is evident when you’re cleaning. For example, it takes the Xiaomi 2-3 tries to get rid of everything in one spot while you can clear everything up with the Dreame in one swoosh.

Most importantly, the Dreame V11 offers three suction modes: an Eco mode, a standard mode and a high performing mode. You can switch between the modes based on the type of mess you want to clean up.

Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Vacuum cleaner doesn’t offer multiple modes. It just has a single mode that is slightly more in terms of intensity than the Dreame’s Eco mode. This stands out when you’re cleaning a carpet. The Dreame is much better at deep cleaning a carpet or a rug when compared to the Xiaomi.

Of course, the Xiaomi does have it’s pros. For example, it has a unique technology that ensures the air duct doesn’t get blocked. This in turn ensures that the suction lasts longer in a stretch.

The Xiaomi also offers a Drive System Air Cooling Technology that dissipates the working heat of the core components to ensure a long-lasting stable suction.

Battery

Although cordless vacuum cleaners have a bad rep when it comes to the battery life. Xiaomi has one of the best cordless vacuum cleaners and its sub brands have refined the technology over the years resulting in longer battery life. For example, the Xiaomi Handheld Vacuum Cleaner offers a reasonable 60 minutes of battery life.

Dreame V11, on the other hand, fluctuates in terms of battery life. On the Eco mode, it last for around 90 minutes, on the standard it can clock 30 minutes and it lasts for 10 on the high mode.

If you’re looking for flexibility then Dreame is the better choice. However, if you’re looking at consistency then the Xiaomi is your best bet.

Attachments

Both the Xiaomi Handheld Vacuum Cleaner and the Dreame V11 offer the same number of attachments. All of the attachments are extremely useful and can help you clean the nook and cranny of your entire house without any issues.

Dreame V11 comes with the main machine that consists of the handle, motor, dustbin and an extended rod. Additionally, it comes with a charging dock, adapter, metal articulating rod, extension hose, electric mite removal brush, flat brush and regular brush.

Xiaomi’s vacuum, on the other hand, comes with the main machine, charging dock and adapter. It also comes with a large diameter smooth suction brush, an electric mites brush, two-in-one flat suction brush, traditional brush and a crevice brush.Check out our Dreame vs Xiaomi guide to find out the best of the best!

Final Thoughts

After subjecting both vacuum cleaners to various tests we came to the conclusion that theDreame V11 is the winner hands down. In terms of design, build, features, performance, and battery life, the Dreame was much better than the Xiaomi Handheld vacuum cleaner.

However, the Xiaomi Vacuum cleaner did win in one regard: price. The Xiaomi cost only $290 while the Dreame V11 cost a whopping $400. Although there is a difference of $100, with all the features the Dreame is definitely worth the money.

We recommend you go with the Dreame V11 unless you have issues with the price. Even then we recommend you save up to get the latest Dreame V11. Check out our Dreame vs Xiaomi guide to find out the best of the best!

Best Xiaomi Electric Scooter

Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2

The Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 is definitely one of the best Xiaomi scooters of 2021. Although it is extremely similar to its predecessor Xiaomi Mi M 365 Pro in terms of specs, it does have other amazing features that help it stand out.

  • For example, it is surprisingly silent for an electric scooter. While electric scooters tend to be on the silent side, this one moves like a Ninja, with absolutely no output noise. Of course, it also happens to be fast with a top speed of 25km/hour.
  • Additionally, it can last for 45 km on a single charge and can take up to a whopping 100kg before the weight starts to affect the speed. So, you can pretty much carry that extra heavy backpack without any issues.
  • The only drawback as such is that this scooter tends to burn through its charge if you constantly maintain top speeds. So, we recommend taking your time with this one.
  • As for the design, it’s absolutely brilliant like the majority of the Xiaomi Scooters. We really love the wide base that provides extra legroom and the highly useful foldable design that helps when you want to put it away.
  • However, what really stands out is the combination of the amazing 8.5in tyres and the updated KERS braking system. Although this upgraded technology adds more weight to the device, it allows you to manoeuvre obstacles like kerbs without any issues.
  • Of course, it also comes with other features like ABS braking, kinetic energy recovery, cruise control and terrific light all at an extremely affordable price, making it the best Xiaomi scooter.

Ninebot Max G30

Ninebot is a brand by Segway. Yes, that Segway. However, not many people know that Segway was acquired by Xiaomi in 2015. So, Ninebot is technically the brainchild of Xiaomi. And it definitely shows. It’s one of the Best Xiaomi scooters.

  • The Ninebot Max G30 is one of the best Xiaomi scooters in the world. With an amazing pickup and acceleration, this electric scooter takes some getting used to.
  • Additionally, this beauty comes with large 10in tyres that help manoeuvre obstacles with ease. Most importantly, you can ride it on uneven terrain without any issues.
  • The 10in tyres and the sturdy build of the Max G30 help reduce shock and impact when you ride, making it one of the most efficient scooters on the market.
  • Unlike most Xiaomi electric scooters, it can last for 40 miles on a single charge. This along with the three driving modes makes it one of the best scooters for long commutes.
  • Of course, it isn’t without its disadvantages. For example, it weighs a whopping 18 kgs, making it really difficult to carry around.

Xiaomi Mi M365 Pro

The Xiaomi Mi M365 Pro electric scooter is definitely an OG when it comes to scooters. Not only is it extremely sturdy and powerful but it also offers amazing short and long term performance that makes it one of the most reliable electric scooters around.

  • You can expect to ride for up to 45km on this beast. Yes, that’s with a single charge. It also comes with two ultrabright lights: a white LED in the front and a red one at the back. All of this can be attributed to its brilliant 12800mAh rechargeable battery.
  • However, it does have a terrible charge time of 8.5 hours. So, you pretty much need to leave it charging overnight or during the weekends. Of course, this is a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.
  • It also has a weight of 14.2 kg which is decent if you have to carry it around for a bit. Especially, since it has compact dimensions of 113L x 43W x 49H when it’s folded.
  • It comes with a powered electrical braking system and 8in tires that help manoeuvre and navigate the roads easily. It also comes with a convenient LCD display and App support that lets you know the status of your battery life and much more.
  • Most importantly, it even has a mechanical brake at the rear for added safety.

Xiaomi Mi Essential

The Xiaomi Mi Essential came out during the Xiaomi R&D experimentation phase. So, you’ll find various features that were added to the scooter to make it more modern. In fact, it’s still one of the most popular Xiaomi scooter models out there. It is hands down one of the Best Xiaomi Scooters in its price segment.

  • It also comes with a really lightweight body that’s made out of aluminium alloy. The same material is used to make the aircraft, which makes this scooter low in weight yet high in terms of durability.
  • This beast can zoom at 25kmph and cover a distance of 30 km. Now although it doesn’t have the best speeds when compared to other Xiaomi scooters, it does have a unique energy recovery feature that recharged the scooter while you’re riding it.
  • Its unique construction and design also ensure safety while riding in addition to comfortable manoeuvring. Additionally, it comes with tick tires with a diameter of 21.6 cm and strong disc brakes that make the riding experience smooth.
  • Most importantly, all the basic riding features can be managed through its mobile app. You can easily keep track of the status through the app and ride accordingly.

Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter 1S

The Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter 1S is extremely similar to the Mi Essential. It comes with features like ABS braking, KERS, and advanced cruise control.  Like almost all Xiaomi scooters, this one offers a maximum load of 100kg. So, you can easily carry additional weight in terms of a backpack if you’re well within the limit.

  • This electric scooter comes with front and rear lights to help improve visibility. So, you do not have to worry about riding at night. Especially, since the light is strong enough to illuminate the path in front of you.
  • It also comes with a powerful 280wh battery that can last for around 30Km. While it’s not the best, it does come with a BMS battery monitoring feature that it’s quite accurate. So, you can plan accordingly.
  • Most importantly, the power output of the motor is around 250W. So, you can easily expect to travel at speeds of 25kmph.

Which is the fastest Xiaomi scooter?

The fastest Xiaomi Scooter would have to be the Xiaomi M365 Pro. Not only does it offer amazing speeds of 16.1 MPH (26km/h) but it also lasts for 27.9 miles on a single charge. So, you can pretty much cover short distances easily in less than an hour.

Most importantly, you will not have to worry about charging it every day if you commute to places less than 5 miles. Additionally, it comes with a beast of a motor that has an output of 600W at its peak. This in turn offers a whopping 20% gradient when you’re climbing a hill. Check out our list of the Best Xiaomi scooters for all the details.

What is the best scooter on the market?

Xiaomi scooters, especially the M365 Pros, is hands down one of the best scooters in the market. Xiaomi scooters, in general, offer amazing value for money. The combination of easy to use and good quality design along with efficient internal technology makes it perfect for those short and medium distance rides.

Xiaomi 12

xiaomi phone best camera

Xiaomi has always been about delivering flagship spec smartphones at affordable rates and the 12 is by far the best smartphone the brand has made till date. This compact device packs the new Snapdragon 8 gen 1 chip and is equipped with a 6.28” AMOLED screen that delivers an impressive 120Hz.

The device is available in variants of 8GB and 12GB RAM with 128 or 256GB internal storage options. The only drawback is that it does not offer expandable storage so 256 gigs is the max it can hold.

Xiaomi phone camera with best zoom

I did find the camera setup to be quite performance driven and while the Mi 11 had a 108MP lens, the 12 has dropped it down to 50MP and alongside it sits a 13MP ultrawide and 5MP tele macro lens.

The selfie camera uses a 32MP sensor that shoots rich selfies and it can capture loads of detail even in portrait mode. Videos can be shot in 1080p and 4K and then there’s OIS that stabilizes the recording even while on the move.

While the Xiaomi 12 is a beast of a device, I felt that the phone should have come with a larger battery to minimize the number of times it has to be charged.

Luckily it offers 65W wired charging and up to 50W wireless charging which is more than enough to get the device charged to at least 90% within 30 minutes.

The price of the Xiaomi 12 varies from $700 – $ 900 depending on the variant selected and I must say that it’s a bargain since other devices like the Samsung S22 go for upwards of $1,000 in the open market.

Poco X4 Pro

Xiaomi phone camera quality

Coming to the best budget phone of the year, the Poco F4 Pro happens to be an affordable device with some serious flagship worthy specs. Don’t let the plastic body fool you because under the hood sits the Snapdragon 695 and a gorgeous 6.67” AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The display is the best feature of the X4 Pro and it’s pretty bright too with around 700 nits on average and a peak brightness of 1300 nits that make it perfect for outdoor use.

Poco phone camera quality

However, the performance could use some improvement as the 695 SD processor is coupled with a limited 6GB/8GB of RAM and between 128 – 256GB of internal storage.

There is the option of boosting the RAM to 8GB  and 11GB respectively, but that’s by using the Dynamic RAM expansion technology Xiaomi built into the X4 Pro. But from what I can tell, this depletes the battery faster than normal and would be recommended to be used only if you’re running a software that’s demanding.

I was able to run high spec games like Call of Duty and Fallout, but it lacks gaming hardware features like shoulder triggers and other accessories that can enhance the gaming experience so I wouldn’t recommend it to dedicated gamers and only those looking for the occasional gameplay experience.

A feature of the X4 Pro that truly stands out is its camera. For the price, the X4 Pro packs a decent 108MP lens along with an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro.

The combination helps process images with ease and the large 1/1.52in sensor allows for more light and better rendering of detailed images. The front 16MP selfie camera is good enough for everyday use and video calls.

In terms of the battery, the 5,000mAh battery can comfortably last for a whole day and coupled with 67W turbo charging, the X4 Pro can go from 0-100% in roughly 40 minutes.

Costing just under $300, the Poco X4 Pro is able to undercut rivals like the OnePlus Nord 2 and is one of the best budget smartphones Xiaomi has to offer this year.

How does the Xiaomi Amazfit Watch detect sleep? https://bestchineseproducts.com/how-does-the-amazfit-watch-detect-sleep/ Tue, 13 Sep 2022 06:00:00 +0000 https://bestchineseproducts.com/?p=15275 In this age of constant rush, it is crucial to keep track of one’s health and well-being. To facilitate this, Xiaomi has launched its smartwatches known as Amazfit.

It is evident that nowadays, to rest is to rust. In this relentless age of rush, Xiaomi’s Amazfit smartwatches emerge as a friendly companion which measures and monitors our health. Read on to know its features and how exactly it helps us even while we sleep.

Studies have shown that sleep deprivation around the world is gradually becoming a huge problem. The average American reportedly gets an average of only 6.8 hours of sleep. Keeping in mind the rising obesity rate, the omens are not terribly good. If you are wondering if sleep trackers work, then you aren’t alone.

Xiaomi’s Amazfit watches have, therefore, managed to become that reliable companion which accurately measures not only the quantity of sleep in hours but also the quality of sleep.

The Amazfit watches accurately measure the heart rate of its owner and can easily distinguish between each stage of sleep to comprehend whether or not its wearer has caught up on some quality sleep.

Created using top-of-the-line technology, Amazfit smartwatches are the ideal solution to every grumbling office-goers’ woe and how! Read on to know more about the benefits and features of the line of Amazfit smart-watches and how it is ideal for the corporate man on the go

In A nutshell

The Amazfit Watch uses a combination of technologies such as gyroscope, heart rate monitor to detect sleep. The watch is able to distinguish sleep through frequency of the heart beat. The heart beat of a human while sleeping has certain patterns which makes it easy for the watch to distinguish.

What is good sleep, actigraphy, and why is it important to keep track of your sleep?

It has already been established worldwide that the average adult needs at least 7-8 hours of healthy sleep to stay in optimal shape.

Good sleep is generally defined as a healthy habit of sleeping that is in keeping with recognized patterns of sleep or sleep cycles having the non-REM and the REM stage. As time goes on, the REM phase of good sleep increases. Each cycle would continue for 1.5 hours.

According to Wikipedia definition, actigraphy is a non-invasive method to measure human rest/activity cycles. The device or actigraph is worn on the non-dominant wrist and is useful for measuring circadian rhythms or sleep cycles.

Ergo, keeping track of the quality of your sleep is not that simple as one must accurately measure all the stages of sleep, such as

  • Stage 1 or light sleep
  • Stage 2 or deep sleep
  • Stage 3 or very deep sleep
  • Stage 4 or Rapid eye movement (REM) or dream stage.

A healthy night’s sleep not only lowers the risk of a plethora of diseases such as heart diseases, obesity, cancer, diabetes, but it also increases cognitive abilities, concentration and creativity.

Now that you know what a night of good sleep is and why you should track not only your sleep duration but even the individual stages, let’s take a look at exactly how Xiaomi Amazfit watches manage to exactly do so.

How does the Amazfit watch detect sleep?

For the Amazfit watch to detect sleep, you need to slap it onto your wrists. Equipped with the latest technologies, the Amazfit watches can accurately detect how much-undisturbed sleep you get. Using various technologies like the gyroscope, pedometer, Amazfit looks for any movement or sleep-walking to determine whether the sleep you are getting is a healthy amount for you or not, irrespective of the hours.

If you are restless in your sleep, i.e., you toss and turn, the sleep cycle would reset with the subsequent sleep cycle again starting from light sleep.

The watch can automatically detect sleep from 6 PM on the previous day to 10 AM on the next day. You need to sync the Amazfit smartwatch with your smartphone to get all subsequent details the following morning.

What sleep parameters does Amazfit watch track?

The Amazfit watch tracks all your sleep stages and gives you a sleep score accordingly. It combines the findings of your heart-rate monitor and your gyroscope to detect the different stages of sleep :

How it detects light sleep

After you wear the smartwatch to sleep, it strives to produce optimized results with each sleep stage divided by the heart rates.

The light sleep stage features heartbeats on the low-end of your normal heartbeat range. Coupled with a minimal rate of movement as measured by the inbuilt accelerometer, the algorithm of the Zepp app ascertains the duration of light sleep.

How it tracks deep sleep

The heart rate is greatly reduced in this stage with little to no movement. The brain activity is solely focused on repairing the body. The Amazfit smartwatch differentiates this stage from the light sleep stage by recognizing these factors, and its algorithm in the Zepp app measures the time accordingly.

How it tracks REM sleep, lucid dreaming, etc

Before the onset of the REM stage of sleep, one tends to slip into the light sleep stage briefly. The Amazfit smartwatch recognizes the REM sleep stage by the increased heart rate but with little to no movement.

The heart rate is higher than it is during light sleep, but what differentiates REM sleep from the former is the little to no movement.

Additionally, if you toss or turn during light sleep or REM sleep, the sleep cycle would reset.

How does the Amazfit watch detect daytime naps?

As mentioned, the Amazfit watch detects sleep automatically from 6 PM of the previous day to 10 AM of the next day.

With the new update in the firmware versions of the GTR and GTS models, the smartwatch can detect sporadic daytime naps as long as it is at least 20 minutes long.

This feature has been made available on the firmware versions 1.3.5.77 of the Amazfit GTR as well as 0.0.9.12 of the Amazfit GTS, respectively.

Is it safe to wear the Amazfit watch while sleeping?

The Amazfit watches guarantee a comfortable and safe product experience, with function gaining precedence over an already-stylish form. There is also little to no risk of infection or reduced blood flow due to tightness, as the watch’s bands can be easily changed and adjusted for maximum comfort.

There is also little risk of radiation or blue-light as the AMOLED screen automatically filters out aberrant sources of light, and the UI is predominantly dark. The non-ionizing radiation is too weak to affect human health or brain waves, but it is still recommended not to keep the watch too close to your head while sleeping.

Sleep-tracking accuracy

With all the latest sensors and technology at their disposal, the Amazfit smartwatches are now able to be more impeccable in their analysis than ever.

It is estimated that the Amazfit smartwatch can accurately measure, categorize and represent your sleep patterns and habits to be reviewed at your leisure. The accuracy rate is estimated to be more than 80%, which is why you need to grab one now.

The Zepp app’s algorithm further enhances this feature as it accounts for the time taken to fall asleep. All measurements and estimates are computed through the app.

How to activate the sleep tracker?

To activate the sleep tracker, you need to synchronize your watch with the Zepp app on your phone. Then it would automatically register when you fall asleep when you wake up, the quality of your sleep.

To know the latest results, pull down on the home screen of your Zepp app.

How does the Xiaomi Band detect sleep? More accurate than you think!

For the past few years, the company has consistently evolved and upgraded their wireless earphones to offer similar technology used in Apple’s Airpods. In this article we will discuss the top Xiaomi earbuds and their features.

Xiaomi AirDots 3

Redmi earbuds

Released back in 2021, the AirDots 3 is perhaps one of the best TWS earbuds Xiaomi has released till date and not only does it look and feel like the AirDots 2, there are a couple of significant changes I noticed with the newer model that truly enhanced my listening experience.

One thing I loved about the AirDots 3 is that it has a larger and much more efficient battery than the AirDots 2 and with the new 600mAh capacity, I was able to use the earbuds for up to 7 hours on a single charge.

The earbuds are slightly longer and thicker too, this proved beneficial to me because unlike the 2, the new AirDots 3 sits snug in my ears and they don’t fall out often with even the slightest movement.

In terms of the functionality, the controls receive an upgrade from their predecessor and the AirDots 3 has touch sensors that are situated under the faceplate of both the left and right earbuds. These sensors were quite sensitive and the response was rather instantaneous. I could control the music playback and answer/disconnect calls simply by tapping the sensor.

Another brilliant feature of the AirDots 3 which made me consider buying it, is that it’s powered by Bluetooth 5.2 and this improves the range of connection as well as minimizes any disturbances while traveling in areas with multiple wireless signals. From what I tested, there was no drop in the signal and there was clear, uninterrupted playback regardless of where I was.

Quite like the Air 2 SE we’ve covered below, the AirDots 3 delivers impressive sound quality with each tone sounding natural and detailed.

However, I did hit some snags and noticed that the AirDots 3 is not designed to take on different genres of music and did well mostly with pop, instrumental and orchestra, but performed poorly while listening to rock or metal at high volumes.

Xiaomi Redmi Buds 3 Pro

Xiaomi earphones and earbuds

Looking at the price tag and what’s under the hood, the Redmi Buds 3 Pro is what I consider to be fantastic value for money. It was released late 2021 and has so many incredible features that at first we thought it was going to be priced over the stars.

The Redmi Buds 3 Pro takes things up a notch and uses 9mm dual dynamic drivers along with Qualcomm’s aptX codec to deliver low-latency sound regardless of what we were using the Buds 3 Pro for.

With a built-in rechargeable battery, the Buds 3 Pro can last up to 7 hours on a single charge and thanks to the charging case that comes with the earbuds, we could get up to 28 hours worth of playback making it the perfect companion for road trips, handling calls, listening to music and even watching movies throughout the day.

Xiaomi earbuds

A point i’d like to make is, the Buds 3 Pro can charge fast and by this I mean that 10 minutes of charge in its case is more than enough to get another 3 hours of playback. The case supports USB-C, so the charging speeds are a atd faster than others that use microUSB cables.

In terms of build quality, the Buds 3 Pro carries an IPX4 rating which protects the earbuds from water damage, but is not entirely waterproof. It also comes with other built-in features that can enhance the user’s experience such as ANC and dual connectivity.

The only drawback I felt was that Xiaomi could have done a bit more in terms of the sound quality as serious audiophiles would prefer to go with another pair of TWS earbuds as the AirDots 3 lacks studio-grade clarity.

Xiaomi Airdots Pro 2 (Air 2)

In September, 2019, Xiaomi launched the closest replica of the Apple Airpods for the Android users. This product was an upgrade on the previously launched Airpods 2 and offered high quality audio at surprisingly affordable prices.

These earbuds were developed following the stem design and offered up to 14 hours of playback time. The device also features a 14.2mm dynamic driver unit that cancels the surrounding noise to provide an uninterrupted experience. Moreover, the earbuds can be fully charged within just an hour and it lasts for nearly 4 hours. It can be automatically paired with any devices and that is what makes it the best alternative of the Apple Airpods 2.

The Mi Airdots Pro 2 case is made of ABS plastic that makes it weightless and easier to carry around. The matt finishing on the other hand makes the case less vulnerable to scratches. Magnetic pins hold the earbuds safely inside the case and prevent it from falling off even if the entire case is turned upside down. Also, the earbuds are water and sweat proof and therefore, can be used during work out sessions.

Xiaomi Air 2s (Airdots Pro 2s)

Just like its predecessor (Airdots Pro 2), the design of Xiaomi air 2s or Airdots Pro 2s was deeply inspired by that of Apple AirPods 2. These earbuds come with an entirely white body and semi in-ear design for the convenience of the users. While the Airdots Pro 2 lacked a long battery life, the Air 2s has a prolonged battery life of almost 24 hours.

The audio quality is amazing, despite that fact that there is no noise cancelling feature in this device. But has little effect on the quality of the calls. And just like the AirPods Pro, the Air 2s earbuds come in a case with an LED indicator that shows us the status of the battery. It also features Bluetooth 5.0 that ensures fast and stable connections with the smartphones. The battery can be fully charged within an hour and it provides almost 5 hours of play time. Another important specification of this product is that it includes a 14.2mm composite diaphragm that offers a bass rich sound experience.

Xiaomi air 2s airdots pro 2s

Xiaomi Mi Air 2 SE

Xiaomi Mi Aie 2 SE is another reliable yet budget friendly TWS earbud that offers similar experience as of the Airpods. The audio quality is undoubtedly stunning and has the environmental noise cancellation feature. This helps the users to enjoy music or attend important phone calls without any interruptions.

What is even more amazing is the fact that it has a truly long lasting battery life that provides a whopping 20 hours of playback time. The white matte finishing of the earbuds and the case protects it from scratches. The main microphone is fitted in the bottom of the earbud while the front consists of a touch control panel and an LED indicator. The case features magnetic pins to hold the earbuds securely.

The earbuds fit comfortably in the ear canal and the users can keep it on for almost a day without feeling stiffness. Coming to the connectivity, Xiaomi Mi Air 2 SE has Bluetooth 5.0 wireless technology that enables the earbuds to be paired with any android devices.  The only setbacks of this product is that the pop up animation works for certain smartphones only and it has no LHDC codec.

Xiaomi Air Purifier Review | Sterra vs Xiaomi Air Purifier https://bestchineseproducts.com/xiaomi-air-purifiers/ Tue, 26 Jul 2022 14:03:40 +0000 https://bestchineseproducts.com/?p=15255 Xiaomi Air Purifiers are indispensable domestic gadgets for keeping the room air fresh and free from dust, dirt, pollens, odor, bacteria, and even viruses. Featuring a very competitive price point, these air purifiers from Xiaomi have become the respite for families living in some of the most polluted cities worldwide.

Xiaomi has combined Electrostatic precipitation and Mechanical filtration technologies to offer world-class Air Purifiers to the global market. The following article illustrates the popular products of this top-class Chinese electronics manufacturer for your convenience.

Since its first launch in December 2014, Xiaomi celebrated its fifth anniversary with the sale of 10 million units of the Mijia Air Purifier worldwide. Xiaomi purifiers have remained highly popular globally because of their high quality, feature-rich specifications, and seamless connectivity with mobile applications. They give customers the best bang for the bucks.

Why is it a hassle to purchase the most authentic Xiaomi air purifiers online?

The USP of Xiaomi products is their low price. However, they offer high quality when compared to global premium brands. Top brands can hardly match Xiaomi’s feature-rich offerings over a wide gamut of consumer appliances. Their burgeoning sales figures often force their official sales channels to run out of stock.

According to Statista, the global air purification market is accelerating at a breakneck pace of about 10.5% CAGR to reach a revenue of USD 26 billion by 2022. Among those international players, Xiaomi is playing a significant role by tapping into the middle-class market worldwide.

This is why unscrupulous vendors jump to cash on Xiaomi’s popularity and push their cheap look-alikes through various online channels. This necessitates that the online shoppers be extra cautious to avoid pitfalls like buying a fake Xiaomi air purifier.

Best Xiaomi Air Purifier

Are Xiaomi filters really effective?

  1. Mi air purifiers 3 series is quite an improvement over its predecessor. Graduating from a previous EPA cartridge to a True HEPA H13 cartridge was a significant jump with a claimed efficiency of up to 99.97% in eliminating up to 0.3 nanometres particles.
  1. Experiment with series three has shown that running the purifier for about 45 minutes in an ample unsealed space has improved the AQI to 60-70 PM2.5 mark, which is commendable for an equivalent value of 250+ without the purifier.
  1. If compared with brands like BlueAir or Honeywell, it may not shine that bright, but you have to remember the value offered at almost half the cost of the premium brands and judge its worthiness in that perspective.

What is the average user review regarding different Xiaomi air purifier filters?

  • According to the Amazon.com global marketplace, the user reviews and ratings for the Xiaomi air purifier 3C model is quite commendable. With more than 63% of 5 star ratings and 10% of 4 star ratings, people have rained plaudits on the Amazon product page for the particular Xiaomi air purifier models.

People suffering from airborne allergens like pollen and dander have confessed candidly how they have benefited immensely from these affordable yet state-of-the-art gadgets. They have also praised the 3C model for being super quiet and delivering clean air ultra fast from power on.

  • AliExpress returns an average customer rating of 4.5 out of 5 for the Mi air purifier three series.

Xiaomi Air Purifiers are thus intelligently designed gadgets that cover most consumer demands and expectations out of such a domestic product. There are models to suit most requirements of consumers concerning known pollutants of particulate or gas nature.

App and voice control, low specific energy consumption, and good enough cartridge life place Mi air purifiers in a respectable position in the market.

Given below a list of popular air purifier filters available in the market:

1. HEPA filters

It’s a pleated mechanical filter generally made up of fiberglass or filter paper. The acronym HEPA stands for High-Efficiency Particulate Arrestance – officially defined by the US Department of Energy.

These filters are theoretically capable of filtering dust, dander, pet hair, pollen, fungi, bacteria, and even viruses (up to 300 nanometres in size) with a minimum efficiency of 99.97%.

However, the Coronavirus variants measuring approximately 50-140 nanometres are beyond the removal capacity of such filters.

HEPA filters are graded as H10 to H14 based upon their percentage efficiency of interception. These H values are of European gradation, equivalent to a MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) scale in the US. Hence, H13 and H14 grade HEPA are equivalent to US MERV of 17 and 18, respectively. A medical-grade H14 HEPA filter allows 0.005% of 0.1-micrometer particles per liter of air to pass through it.

Pros:

  • As their name suggests, they offer high efficiency of filtration. However, buyers must steer clear of filters named ‘HEPA-type’ or ‘HEPA-like,’ which are not HEPA filters.
  • Clean Rooms and Electronic Assembly get benefits from using medical-grade HEPA.

Cons:

  • Mold can thrive when suspended over a HEPA filter surface and release spores.
  • Dying bacteria on the HEPA surface can release endotoxins in the incoming air.
  • Not effective in arresting viruses below 0.3 micrometers (300 nm) size

2. Carbon filters

Carbon was long known for removing gangue or impurities from metallic ores, such as smelting bronze. But that was as a reducing agent. There was also a practice of smearing waterpots with charcoal to keep water fresh for a long time.

It started to be known for air filtration after the Activation of carbon, or charcoal technique, was invented. Charcoal is ‘activated’ when injected with hot air or carbon dioxide, thereby creating tiny pores into it, increasing its surface area manifold, and inculcating a property called “adsorption” into it.

Activated carbon filters thus ‘adsorb’ tiny gas molecules in them and strip the air passing through them off unwanted glasses causing odor, VOCs or volatile organic compounds, smoke, etc.

While adsorbing chemical pollutants for a specific time, the pores of adsorbing carbon get filled, which inhibits further adsorption and may cause the release of the adsorbed gases in conditions dependent on ambient temperature and humidity. This might cause odor pollution from the carbon filter and is the only indicator of when a replacement is due.

Activated carbon media find wide application in water and air purifiers alike for their unique property of gas adsorption. Most consumer and commercial air purifiers on the market happen to have this filter media.

Pros:

  • Able to remove smoke, like cigarette smoke or fumes leaked from a kitchen chimney, fumes of drying paints, fumes from cleaning agents, benzene, xylene, and certain chlorinated compounds
  • Able to remove odors that mechanical filters cannot. You can expect not to smell frying fish having installed an air purifier that sports carbon filtration.

Cons:

  • Cannot filter the particulate matter
  • Replacement is expensive
  • There is no way to know when the filter bed is entirely spent and the time of replacement

3. Prefilters

Air pre-filters or mesh filters, as they are more commonly known, are cartridges or media designed to arrest large pollutant particles like dust, dirt, pollen, dander, pet, human hair, etc.

They serve the dual purpose of capturing larger particles, thereby reducing the load on a downstream HEPA filter and extending its life as a result. Pre-filters safeguard all of their downstream filter media.

They are generally made up of monofilament nylon/polyester/stainless steel wires, main weave/twill weave/dutch weaved to a 5 to 420 mesh/inch size normally.

For consumer air purifiers, such air pre-filters are typically made in Basket or Panel form suitably supported by PVC/metal frames.

Pros:

  • Sieves out significant pollutants that can impede or shorten the life of expensive, main filtration media
  • Easy to clean and cheap to replace compared to a much more expensive HEPA cartridge

Cons:

  • None in particular except for adding a little extra width/volume of the central air purifier body.

4. Permanent filters

They come with reusable, washable, or vacuumable filter media and are generally expensive compared to Air Purifiers that use disposable cartridge filter media. Most of them feature permanent HEPA filters.

Products like Winix 5500-2, Honeywell HFD 120-Q, Envion Therapure TPP240 are permanent air filters with washable cartridges. Permanent HEPA filters need replacement every 8-10 years if cleaned at the prescribed frequency of 30-90 days.

Pros:

  • No botheration of frequent replacement of filter media

Cons:

  • Mostly bulky and expensive
  1. Does Xiaomi Air Purifier use real HEPA filters?

Yes. Mi Air Purifier 3H sports an H13 authentic HEPA filter that comes in a basket shape offering filtration on a 360-degree cylindrical surface.

  1. How long does a Xiaomi Air Purifier 3H filter cartridge last?

The age of the Xiaomi 3H filter cartridge is ideally 6-12 months, depending upon the pollution load of the area of use and the sealing quality of the room concerned. Many people remove surface clogging of the cartridge side surface manually or use a vacuum cleaner to extend cartridge life partially.

However, the onboard display may not change to show a better remaining life when tried after such cleaning, but evidently, it improves the working of the purifier before the replacement of the cartridge.

  1. Where should I ideally place my Mi Air Purifier for best results?

The working efficiency of the Mi Air Purifier can be boosted by nearly 20% by placing it at the correct position – behind a TV stand or at a room corner, even resulting in a 50% loss of the purifier capacity.

Consider the following to identify issues and resolve them.

  • Put it at known problematic zones – where you smell the oil fumes, get exposed to passive smoking, mold-infested surface/wall.
  • Keep it 3-5 feet off the ground by exposing it to horizontal and vertical air movement inside the room.
  • Keep near high airflow zones, like windows or doorsdoor.
  • Don’t keep it inside a kitchen or a bathroom.
  • Avoid placing near electronic gadgets like TV, microwaves to avoid any possible electromagnetic induction waves.
